Zen plopped himself down in his usual spot beside the window on the cushion. As he sank into the softness of the seat and his body reached full comfort right to his fingertips, he flipped open his script. For the act he was gonna do this time it was a pretty thick book, so he'd better start doing his homework.
Sipping on some of his beer he placed the metal can on the conveniently placed coffee table with a clank. Analysing the printed words on the white paper he decided on how his character should be like, and started memorising some texts.
-
Zen stretched his body and stiff bones. He has been sitting there for an hour or so, diligently studying his script like the dedicated actor he is. Casually he glanced out of the window beside him. Many people walked past, but only one caught his eye. It was a student in her casual clothing, her heavy navy blue bag on her shoulders. She was also holding a box file which seemed like it had a bunch of stickers stuck on it's surface. She had short hair, length just reaching the bottom of her chin. Her fringe fell in front of her face to one side.
There was nothing out of the ordinary about her, just that he supposed she was returning from school. He watched her footsteps as she advanced down the street until he couldn't see her anymore.
-
The next day he sat by the window again, doing his usual routine. At about the same time yesterday he saw the same girl walking down the street home.
For the following days he continued seeing her while doing his work, she was kind of part of his routine now. Sometimes she walked home with a friend, sometimes alone. On certain days he didn't see her, but he noticed her timetable already. He knew when she would walk home and when she wouldn't.
-
It was another day of the week, Zen had acted for that play for two times already, he just had to act once more for another day. He didn't have to study his script, he was familiar with it, but he still continued to sit by the window at that specific time.
Looking out of the fogged glass he saw some drops of water rolling down it's surface. Observing further out he saw the rain fall from the clouds above. He was in the shelter of his home, but he worried for that certain someone that was probably walking home.
At this moment the dark-haired female walked past his window. Ignoring the elements of the weather she braved through the rain.
"That can't be healthy," Zen thought. He couldn't simply let this slide. Rushing out of his front door he went out and grabbed her arm, pulling her under some shelter.
"It isn't safe to walk under this kind of weather, you'll fall ill."
Well people say not to talk to strangers, especially if they are tall handsome men who seem to care for you, well not that it matters here.
"No I have to get home, I don't have a choice," the girl replied.
So that was what her voice sounded like. He ran into his house and returned with an umbrella.
"In that case use my umbrella, you dont have to return it. Please get home quickly and warm yourself. It's a cold day today," Zen said in the most calming voice ever, also the voice girls squeal over.
"T-thank you," she said with a polite bow, afterwards she took the umbrella and opened it, leaving with it shielding her from the rain.
Before disappearing down the street she turned back and asked, "You're Zen aren't you? the famous actor?"
"Yes, and you? It's only fair I know your name too."
"It's Zan."
