date ; 19th August 2017

purpose ; school project

a/n ; yoooo it's me, my requests have slowed down a fair bit since schooooool but don't worry, i'm in the progress of making a cover that is literally just a base image on a transparent canvas but hey at least i 'started'

this poster (or rather diagram?? not really but eh) is for a huge school project that everybody in my grade has to do. we're given five days to try and solve or find some sort of solution to this ongoing problem or topic. it's supposed to simulate and mimic what it's like when you're actually an adult and qualified and have a job inventing crap. but we also get to miss out on normal school timetable for a week.

our overall year group topic is feeding the world. basically, we, a bunch of immature, loud, noisy, procrastinators of kids have to solve world hunger. in five days.

i need to cut this down but we have sub-topics like food adaptability, food technology, indigenous food (i live in australia so yay these people get to research about edible grubs and damper which is actually delicious with honey). we're not allowed to choose our topics and we're divided into groups of six by the staff or whatever. my group is food sustainability and we have to

- research about our sub-topic

- identify a problem

- research some more

- find three possible solutions

- pitch it to the class and class co-ordinator

- using the feedback, decide on one solution

- research that solution

- design that solution, whether it be a product or app or campaign

- make a 90-second video explaining your problem and solution and design

- ace the whole project and get along perfectly well with your group members

AHAHAHAHAHA no

our group's initial problem before the pitch was 'oh the way we are farming today isnt sustainable enough and we're gonna run out of food in this century and everybody's gonna die from starvation or resort to cannibalism in which everybody dies as well'

and that was too 'broad' or 'needed to be more specific'

yeh okay how about we can kill some newborn babies so we have less mouths to feed (jkk but we actually wrote this on the brainstorming board and the substitute teacher was purely horrified)

and hence why we spent the last two days, frantically finding a new problem, bashing our heads into the table, finding a new solution, further bashing our heads into the table, memorising lines for filming the video, actually filming the video, editing the video, designing the product and oh did i mention bashing our heads into the table??

i'm talking too much and my head is so dizzy right now i actually feel like i'm gonna pass out soon but it was alright i guess, pretty fun, minus the stress and rush.

this poster (below) is a - yep, you guessed it - a freaking poster.

hands up to you if you read everything, know what a GMO is without reading the poster and hasnt passed out yet alright goodbye!!

( also ignore the weird black blocks at the top, those were the full names of everybody in our group including me so i censored it for obvious privacy reasons )
