''Why are we at the cemetery?...''Edward thought when Roy had stopped in front of the surprisingly quiet, empty but familiar cemetery, ''This is important I promise...'' Roy said suddenly making Edward jump up remembering Roy could read his thoughts turning to see Roy was already looking at him with a different almost pained smile as he held a bouquet of flowers making Edward curious as to why the usually serious looking vampire was so down. Edward glanced around the surprisingly comfortable cemetery making a face, ''...I haven't been here since-!'', ''Over here.'' Edward heard Roy say turning to see the raven haired male standing in front of a single grave, walking over to him about to say something but glanced down to see a name on it 'Maes Hughes', with Edward opening his mouth to ask but shut it when seeing Roy kneel look down and his hands tremble a bit when he put the flowers on the grave. In that moment Edward realized Roy needed him kneeling besides him and putting his hands over the other surprising Roy when feeling the warmth of Edward's hands over his, ''Hey, It's going to okay. I'm here for you Roy.'' He heard Edward say turning over to see the blonde smiling at him making the raven haired vampire smile a bit despite the pain that was obvious in his eyes, ''Take your time, I'll be here next you, I won't leave your side.''. Roy stared blankly and painfully at the cement headstone for a few long minutes glancing over to see Edward fixing the flowers in silence before smiling in content, ''He was my best friend.'' Roy finally said breaking silence making Edward turn to the raven haired male looking at him, and holding a picture out in silence to the blonde who looked down seeing a single picture of Roy being hugged by a male with green eyes and glasses at a familiar looking pier. ''He was a happily married family man.'' Roy continued with Edward taking the picture looking over it to see Roy scowling in annoyance in the hug, seeing his fangs were showing making him stay quiet for a long raising an important question for him, ''...Did he know about you?'', Edward asked looking up again to see Roy making a face with a pained expression, ''Yeah he did, of course that never changed anything between us...'' Roy said glancing down at the picture. ''Seven whole years... You would of thought the guy would of just gave me out, or even be mad at me about the choice I made but... He never did... He always looked out for me... He didn't even get mad at me the day I came back and told him what I had done... He just gave me this annoyed expression before giving me a tired smile saying 'Find yourself a nice woman that you'll want by your side forever Roy.' The raven haired vampire said with a pained smile. "He always knew what to say, no matter what kind of trouble I got in..." Roy said pausing for a moment glancing over to the headstone, ''So what was going on here when the picture was taken?'' Edward asked taking the picture, ''He made a bad vampire joke.'' Roy said making a face turning back to Edward, making Edward laugh a bit, ''More than I do?'', ''Both equally, it's like hearing him all over again.'' The raven haired vampire huffed. ''He seemed like a good person.'' Edward said, ''He was... He was a really great person... He deserved to stay with his family...'' The raven haired vampire said clutching the cross necklace against his heart painfully, ''...I couldn't even save him... All this power I had, and I couldn't even save my best friend, I was so useless... Of course he didn't want me to...'' Roy said with a pained expression in his dark eyes, making Edward glance over to his pained boyfriend. ''...He made me promise that if something happened to him, that I wouldn't do anything to save his life... But I refused to keep it the day he landed in the hospital, the day of the accident...'' Roy said getting quieter as he spoke, ''...I told him I would help him, when he was in the hospital lying there that I would save him, so he could stay with his family, but... He refused my offer... I couldn't understand why he had denied to be saved...'' Roy continued conflicted. ''The last thing he told me before he had died was 'It's all a part of being human, you'll understand someday Roy' with a smile putting this in my hands...'' Roy said with his voice drifting off holding the familiar cross necklace he never took off in the palm of his hand, ''Of course during that time I thought he was as wrong as Riza... But they weren't... Meeting you changed that... Meeting you all... Made me realize they were right...'' Roy finished pained. Roy stood quiet pained at the repressed memory he had finally opened up to with Edward feeling Edward put his hands over his, ''We're weak... But we try our best, no matter how hard things get... We always get back up.'' Edward said softly making Roy glance up to see Edward smiling softly, ''You know what I think... He would be proud of you, if Hughes saw you now, He'd be proud of how far you've gotten.'' Edward said but paused handing the picture back. ''...Though I'm sure he would of questioned your dating choice...'' The blonde said patting the others hands, before turning to the headstone about to say something but pause with a surprised expression in his golden eyes, making Roy turn to see what had gotten the others attention to see Hughes spirit leaned on his headstone looking at them with a simple kind smile, before disappearing with both males looking at one another speechless. ''...All the time that I've been here and I haven't see him till now...'' Roy said surprised but smiled almost happily to the blonde in front of him, ''...He liked you... That makes me really happy...'' The raven haired male said with a satisfied smile making Edward smile at the vampire who was content for once, ''Even now he still looks after you...''The blonde said looking over to headstone once more feeling Roy's hand over his surprising Edward, since he was rarely affectionate or honest. ''There's someone else here isn't there Edward?...'' Roy said with Edward getting up and patting Hughes headstone with a smile, ''See you again.'' He said turning to Roy with a smile, ''You know me too well, Baby Dracula...'' Holding his hand out towards the raven haired vampire with the sun shining down on Edward, making his already golden hair as golden as the sun making Roy pause for a few long moments to admire his boyfriends beauty before accepting his hand. "We're almost there." Edward said walking up ahead of Roy seeing it wasn't very far from Hughes, glancing around but stopped bumping into Edward who had stopped suddenly, ''Why did you stop so suddenly for?'' Roy asked when hearing Edward laugh a bit and smile almost painfully, ''...I just found out what happened to my old man...'' Edward said making Roy look over to see a headstone with the name 'Trisha Elric' glancing over to see another next to it that had said 'Van Hohenheim', ''...Edward...'' Roy said putting his hand on Edward's shoulder. ''It's okay... Really...'' Edward started in his usual tone and smile despite the pained look in his golden eyes, ''I never really got along with my old man anyways... I just wished... Maybe... We could of at least tried to work things out, before this happened you know?...'' Edward said with his voice cracking and trailing off feeling Roy grab him and hug him against his chest suddenly surprising Edward who just smiled more, ''I'm fine you idiot...'' Edward said but dropped his forced smile, gripping Roy's arms and breaking down, ''Hey, it's going to be okay, I'm here for you.'' Roy said softly glancing at the headstones again.
