''Gracia... It's me Roy... Yeah... I've been great... Yes, I actually am seeing someone right now, but I can introduce you to them soon... But this isn't why I called you... I actually called you for a huge favor, it's about her... You think I can drop by sometime and take them out for a bit... No, nothing's wrong, it's just... It's been a long time since I seen them...'' The vampire said over the phone getting quiet for a moment, putting his hand on his face. ''Mmm... Well she went on a camping trip with Elicia and some friends, but they should be back in week, if you want to wait.'' The confused widow said since this was the first time in years her late husbands best friend called her, ''Roy... Are you really alright?...'' Gracia asked at the silence at the other end, ''She.. Nina... The one she refers to as 'Big Brother', did she ever tell you who that was?'' Roy asked confusing Gracia. ''Mmm... I've tried asking her, but she gets upset, so I don't press on it anymore...'' She replied but quickly spoke again, ''Actually, no...She just told me the other day before they left, that they go by Ed, and she also mentioned someone by the name of Alphonse... Why do you ask?'' The widow asked hearing a surprised gasp on the other end, ''Roy?...'', ''Gracia... Would you believe I know them?...'' She heard Roy say simply surprising her.
''Roy Mustang, I hope you have a good reason for not answering your phone.'' Riza called out when she walked into the quiet apartment with bags in her hands, about an hour later seeing only Hayate greet her tilting her head in confusion, ''I wonder...'' The blonde said to herself setting the bags on the table in front of the couch, grabbing Hayate into her arms heading for the vampires room opening it to see it dark inside but spotted the vampire sleeping in his bed.
''...Of course...'' Riza said with a sigh closing the door behind her quietly, walking off to see some sweets on a plate, with a note next to them going over to read it, ''Sorry, if I miss you. I hope you have a good day at work later.'' With a smiley face next to it concerning Riza a bit at the tone of the note, looking down at Hayate in her arms, ''Hayate... Something isn't right with him... I know this, he's keeping everything to himself, and that's unhealthy...''. ''Hey Brother, where are you going?'' Al asked when seeing Edward come out of his room dressed in his usual plat formed boots, dark pants, black tank top, slipping his red sweater on later on, seeing the older blonde glance over to him with a serious expression despite his still puffed up eyes, ''I'm going to check on Roy... I've been too selfish to think about how he's been feeling...'' Edward said quietly looking down. ''You're not being selfish... He gave you the personal space'' Alphonse said seeing Edward make a face, ''I know but... Something tells me he needs me, Alphonse...'' Edward said almost quietly with Alphonse understanding, nodding silently with a smile, ''Thanks Al... I'll be back.'' Edward said with a smile closing the door behind him, making Al sigh when he heard the door lock followed by Edwards boots on the wooden hallway floor. Roy who had changed into sweats, a muscle shirt and sneakers walked out his door to see it was quiet deciding to go out and smoke, pausing when feeling Hayate bite at his sweats and tug at him, ''Hayate, I won't be long...'' Roy said trying to kick Hayate off his leg, stopping and letting out a sigh, ''Fine, I'll stay. Happy?'' He said glancing down making Hayate bark happily in response seeing Roy open the window, ''Guess I'll smoke here...''. ''Man, if you were human, you would of been dead a long time ago.'' A voice said making Roy turn to see Envy sitting on the open window with a disgusted expression, making Roy scowl showing his fangs, ''Fuck off, you fucking androgynous talking palm tree.'' He said making Envy's face flinch in annoyance and irritation at the insult, ''I'm not here to fight you, you fucking useless excuse of a vampire. But if you want me to, I will gladly.'' Envy retaliated back. ''What do you want!-'', ''I'm getting to that... Let me fucking finish.'' Envy said with an annoyed expression in his sharp amethyst eyes pointing his finger towards him, ''Your pet... He doesn't know about the girl?'' He asked seeing the raven haired vampires dark eyes widen, looking down making a face, ''No...'' Roy said hoping for a snarky comment looking up to see Envy with a thoughtful expression that suited his surprisingly pretty face. ''...He'll be happy. The both of them.'' The palm haired male said crossing his leg over the other, ''I wouldn't think that same girl would be connected to the very person you're involved with.'' Envy said almost quietly glancing over to see Roy standing next to him holding the box of cigarettes towards him, ''You smoke like me too...'' Roy said surprising Envy since he was right, ''Mind reader like me and Lusty huh?...'' Envy said taking the cigarette and lighting it. ''That girl... You're the one that saved her, after the car accident with that terrible father of hers, she was left alone with her dog... That's when your friend and wife took her in as her own, kind of like a sibling for their own kid.'' Envy said with Roy staying quiet, ''You grew attached to her, despite not understanding who she was talking about when she was talking about Edward.'' The palm haired male continued but paused mid smoke, ''How old is she again?''. ''She's Twelve... She's actually going to be Thirteen next week actually.'' Roy answered seeing Envy look surprised for once, ''So you plan to surprise them both? You sure have a soft spot for kids. You're even spoiling the runts friend, and her baby isn't even born yet.'' He said hearing Roy laugh a bit, ''I can't help it... I really love kids.'' Roy said with a smile, ''They make me feel human, even when I'm... This monster.'' Roy said with Envy making a face at what he said. ''Tch... How depressing...'', ''You think it is?...'' Roy said quietly, ''So you were still human when you saved her... Is she aware of what you are now?'' Envy asked referring to Nina, ''Not one bit, I can't tell her. The last time I saw her... She was... Nine, but she doesn't have a clue.'' The raven haired vampire answered, ''I see...'' Envy said putting the cigarette out on the ash tray on the next to him, with Roy silently looking down. ''You won't tell Edward will you?'' Roy asked hearing the other make a familiar annoyed sound but laugh, ''Pft... No, you have my word.'' Envy said, ''Hey... Keep those fangs sharp...'' The palm haired male said simply before disappearing suddenly confusing Roy at what he said, never understading that Envy had meant to keep his what little sanity he had left together, ''He's not that bad, I guess...'' Roy admitted with an annoyed sigh lighting another cigarette.
