"Gillyweed!" I gasped, jumping up off of the couch. Harry looked at me from his homework in confusion.
"What?"
"Gillyweed! It's perfect for the challenge!" I laughed, standing in front of him. "It's this...weird...well, weed, and it basically lets you breath underwater for an hour. You'll be able to swim a lot better, too."
Harry, Hermione, Ron and I have been searching for something for Harry to use for the past week. Harry hadn't really paid much attention after he heard what the egg said, given all the stuff happening with You-Know-Who. It was now two days until we went off on winter break, so we had been constantly researching for a way to let Harry stay underwater for an hour.
"You're brilliant, Cassie!" Harry gasped, standing up and pulling me into his embrace. Although I was surprised, I quickly returned the hug, not wanting to leave his arms.
"I'm sure Snape has it in his office," I said as we pulled away.
"So I'd have to steal it from there?"
"Excuse me? I'm not letting you go do that by yourself," I said, crossing my arms. "I don't want you to get in trouble."
"But if you went, it wouldn't change me getting in trouble," he pointed out. "It would be both of us. I'd rather it just be me."
"I know what it looks like," I said, a small smirk on my face. "If you went on your own, you might get the wrong thing."
He hesitated before letting out a sigh, sitting back down on the couch.
"Fine. But...you've never gotten in trouble." He frowned. "I don't want to be the one to change that."
"Harry," I chuckled, sitting down next to him. "I believe that getting a detention or two isn't the worst of our worries right now."
He smiled a little at me, putting an arm around my shoulders, pulling me a little closer to him. I rested my head on his shoulder, smiling softly as I finally was able to relax.
••••••••••
"Harry? Are you here?" I whispered. There was a movement from near the dying fire, an outline of a person standing in front of me.
"Right here. You ready?"
"You know it," I laughed quietly. He picked up his invisibility cloak from the couch, throwing it over the two of us.
"Stay close to me. I want to make sure our feet won't show," he said. I nodded, moving slightly closer. He then pressed up against my side, not satisfied. I blushed a little, glad he couldn't see my face.
I took the marauders map, Harry casting lumos so we could see. No one was nearby, only a few teachers milling around at least a few hundred feet away from where we were going.
We quietly made our way to Snape's office, when I realized with a start that Snape was actually in there. I stuck my arm out in front of Harry, stopping him and pointing at the dot that marked where he was. He nodded, stepping back from the door and moving against the wall.
"We'll wait until he leaves," Harry murmured. I nodded, leaning back a little.
Nearly ten minutes of silence later, the door swung open, causing me to jump a little. Given it was the middle of the night, I was extremely tired and had started to nod off. Harry and I rushed through the door, swiftly making it into the office before the door closed.
"Okay, do you see it?" Harry asked, his voice still hushed. I searched the shelves for a few moments.
"There!" I whispered. He lifted the cloak up so I could go and grab the jar that held the gillyweed, ducking back under the cloth quickly.
