Harry's POV
"Don't you see? She's talking with him again," I grumbled, watching her approach Malfoy at his table. It had been a few weeks, and it had seemed that she had become much closer to the twit.
"Maybe it's because he isn't ignoring her," Hermione snapped. "You're being awful, Harry! You can't expect her to just sit here with you while you glare at her."
"He kissed her last year, Hermione!" I shot back. "Why do you think he's being so nice to her now?"
Ron and Hermione suddenly shared a look of surprise.
"What?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "What?!"
"Are you jealous of him?" Ron asked, frowning.
"No! I just would appreciate if he wasn't being so...so friendly with her," I scoffed. "And she's just going along with him, completely happy and..."
I trailed off as they gave me knowing looks. I gathered my stuff, slinging my bag over my shoulder.
"I'm leaving. See you guys later," I sighed, walking off.
Cassie's POV
Over the past few weeks, I found myself going to Draco more and more to talk about Harry. For once, he was someone that would just listen to me; if I told him I didn't want any advice, but I just wanted to rant, he'd sit there nodding his head and then every once in a while say that he agreed with me. Then, if I did want some help or comfort, he was happy to say something that calmed me down.
It bothered Harry a lot that I was spending so much time with him, but it didn't bother me as much as it should've. In fact, I noticed that he had started talking with Cho more, but the difference was, I wasn't going all out and flirting with Draco. I noticed that he was giving her his playful, flirty expressions he used to give me. I even caught him numerous times brushing her hair back, or offering to carry her stuff for her.
I finally couldn't take it any longer. I stormed up to him, grabbing his wrist after one of the DA meetings. He waved Cho off, his smile disappearing from his face.
I pulled him back into the Room of Requirement, slamming the door shut.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?!" I shouted. "It's one thing when you completely ignore me, but you're nothing but a jackass for going off and flirting with her!"
"Wait, you're really gonna get mad at me for flirting with someone?!" He let out a wry laugh. "Cassie, you've spent weeks spending a hell of a lot of time with Malfoy."
"And you think that means I want to date him?!" I cried out. "Harry, the only reason I'm talking to him is because you aren't around for me to talk to anymore!"
"He kissed you last year. How can you go and forgive him for everything just like that?! It's obvious he just wants to be with you!" he yelled. "I've never seen him be nicer! And you're just completely oblivious to what he's trying to do!"
"Are you saying that someone being nice to me means they want to date me?!" I scoffed. "Oh, you better watch out! Earlier, Ron said hi to me! He's probably going to take me from you!"
"Ron isn't the same as Malfoy!"
"And Malfoy isn't the same as you! Harry, why can't you just trust me?! I would never leave you for someone like that!" I felt tears start to fall from my eyes. "Harry, I love you more than anyone on this entire planet! You're always who I've gone to whenever I'm upset! But if you've turned your back on me, and I'm sad, so you can't expect me to just make this all go away on my own! I need you!"
