A/N Ahhh it's the last chapter of the sixth book
I'll never be able to explain the way my entire stomach dropped when I heard Malfoy talking to Dumbledore.
It all happened in a flash; Dumbledore told us to wait on the stairs, saying that Snape would come. We didn't understand what was wrong with him, but we knew that we couldn't say no. Malfoy ran past us, completely oblivious to the fact that we were there. Harry was holding my hand tighter than ever, and I'm sure that I was squeezing his hand just as hard.
"I'm here to kill you."
The words sunk through me like a knife. A small gasp escaped my throat, but I didn't move.
"I must say that I am surprised to hear you say that, Draco," the Headmaster spoke.
"Why is he so calm?" I whispered, more to myself then Harry, as tears began to sting at my eyes. "Why is he always so calm?"
"Be quiet," Harry murmured, his voice breaking.
"Expelliarmus!" Malfoy yelled. In the small area of where they were standing I could see, I saw a wand fly through the air, into Malfoy's other hand.
"Draco. Why are you doing this?" Dumbledore asked him.
"I have to!" he hissed. "Don't you see?! I have to! If I don't, they'll..." his voice broke a little, causing him to pause. "They'll kill me."
I had to cover my mouth to keep from letting out a small sob. Even Harry seemed to be choking back tears.
It was then that Snape himself passed us on the stairs, stopping for a short moment to look at us. He suddenly pushed something into Harry's hands: the invisibility cloak.
"How did you-"
"They're coming," he muttered, and then continued up the stairs.
Harry quickly threw the cloak over us. A second later, as a large group of people came running up the stairs, I realized who 'they' were.
Death eaters. Voldemort was here.
"Go on, Draco!" came a shriek as everyone settled on to roof. "Kill him!"
"How did you manage to get them here, Draco?" Dumbledore asked.
"The vanishing cabinet. In the Room of Requirement," Malfoy spit out.
"Clever," Dumbledore sighed.
"Draco, kill him already!" someone called out in frustration.
I heard a sudden commotion on the roof. Someone being pushed. Snape came into view, pointing his wand in the same direction as Malfoy had been...
"No," I whispered.
"Avada kedavra."
••••••••••
"Harry, stop!" I screamed, chasing him through the grass. He was sprinting towards Snape, his wand pulled out and ready. "HARRY!"
"How could you?!" Harry was yelling at him. "HOW COULD YOU?!"
As Harry shot a spell at Snape, I heard a yell and whipped around, blocking whatever spell the person in front of me had cast.
Bellatrix.
"Why hello, Cassandra!" she cackled, slowly walking closer to me as I backed up. "Care for a rematch?"
My mind flashed back to when I simply disarmed her in the Ministry. Then to Knockturn Alley, when I had nearly passed out at the sight of her.
