Chapter 48 - Our New Homes

*Kyoko's pov*

I explored the grounds for a bit before going back to where Soul and Buster had been. I hadn't really found anything much of interest and walking around alone I felt fairly lonely.

"Back already?" Soul asked when I walked in.

I nodded and sat down with them.

"I take it you were found off the street by Reed" Soul asked.

"No I was brought by him" I told them as I looked down at the table.

"Brought?" Asked Buster.

"In one of those auctions which sells people they kidnap to work for the rich" I said as I looked at them.

"So how did they make you appeal to him then? Normally he finds people who have had ruff pasts, or genuinely look fit enough to help out here" Soul asked.

"I don't know, I was number 537, identitied as female and in my early 20's and said that I had possibly had children but still able to work" I said as I just thought about where possibly the others could be now.

"How old are you?" Buster asked.

"You can't ask that to a lady!" Soul shouted at him.

"Why can't I?" Buster asked.

"It's not polite!" Soul scolded him.

"It's fine I dont mind, I'm 21 coming up to being 22" I told them.

"And they suspected you of having children?" Buster asked.

"Yeah" I smiled, "they weren't wrong"

"Wait you have kids?!" Soul asked shocked.

"Two girls and a boy" I slightly laughed as I thought about them.

"What are their names, and how old are they?" Buster asked.

"Nori I adopted and he is 12, Lydia is my eldest and she is five and Roma is one" I replied, "before you ask yes I had Lydia when I was 16"

"What happened to them?" Soul asked.

"The place where we were staying caught fire one night and whilst we were escaping one of our group memebers collapsed so I sent Nori with the kids and dog away somewhere safe from the fire, we didn't find them after that" I sighed.

"So I guess you did have a ruff past after all then" Soul sighed.

"My whole group was sold at that place" I growled as a sudden wave of anger hit me.

"Well Kyoko I'm sure you'll see them all again soon" Buster said cheerfully.

I just nodded and looked away as it hurt when the children left and now I was hurting even more being seperated from my entire family. I missed Makoto I wanted to be back in his arms and watch our children grow up.

"Wait how would they know you've had kids from looking at you?" Buster asked, "Coz I couldn't tell"

"..." Soul pondered things for a while before saying, "Well when a woman is pregnant the baby grows a and stretches her skin, but Kyoko should really answer it coz I don't know"

"That's basically it, I guess when they checked over us they saw the marks" I replied.

We all fell into silence and then a thought poped into my head which I couldn't shift. "What happened to the last maid?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Umm... well... she kinda blew up" Soul said rather casually.

"She tried to escape and that black band blew up when Madame realised she was gone" Buster sighed.
