*A few days later*
*Makoto's pov*I took Toko with me to go out on a hunt for food, so far she had proven the most useful. For some strange unknown reason she could change into Sho for short intervals just to attack and defeat danger. She really didn't want to leave Byakuya but he got her to come with me. We wondered through the fields until we got to some woodland. There we just crept around looking for anything that could be food. We had been surviving on the food Kyoko and Asahina had brought with them but now it had completely run out.
We found nothing worth eating, I did spot a deer but neither of us would be fast enough or able enough to catch it. Toko also found some berries but we ended up not picking them as the likelihood was they would be poisonous.
"T-that was a huge waste of time" Toko moaned as we moved back through the undergrowth.
"Yeah" I agreed with her as I tried to navigate our way back.
"I-I don't reconise that rock" Toko said as we walked past a large rock.
Come to think of it neither did I.
"Which way did we come?" I asked her.
"You were surposed to be remembering that!" She shouted at me.
"So were you" I replied.
"Shit we are lost aren't we?!" She screamed.
"N-no I'm sure we can find our way out it isn't that big of a forest" I tried to stay positive.
"The way out isn't the problem it's finding the other two and Master again which will be the issue!" She shouted.
Now I regretted taking Toko with me, any animal that would have been near us was probably miles away now. She also lost it far more quickly than the others did when the situation wasn't ideal.
"We're going to die here alone and no one will ever know" she whimpered as now the anger had subsided to despair.
"No we won't" I supported her, "come on let's not give up hope" I smiled at her as I grabbed her arm and pulled her along with me.
She tried to get me to let go but I knew if I did she could just disappear or start to shout at me again.
I dragged her until we reached a clearing in the trees. Now back out on the fields I let her go and we both stood looking around. In the distance we saw a large group of people heading towards us. They weren't people we knew, they were wearing all black.
"Who are they?" Toko asked.
"No idea" I replied.
We were just standing there and suddenly I felt something fly passed me followed by a loud bang.
"They're shooting at us" Toko jumped.
"Let's go!" I shouted to her as we both began to run.
"Back to the woods?" She asked.
"The likelihood is they will know this place well, we won't get anywhere" I sighed as I looked for an escape route.
"Out here we are just sitting targets!" She shouted.
Another bang sounded and a bullet flew between us grazing Toko's cheek.
"That was too close let's go Makoto!" Toko screamed.
That was it she was off running back into the woodland so I just followed her.
"Hey stop!" The people yelled behind us.
There was no way either of us were going to slow down, if we did they would shoot us. I had no idea where we were going and I don't think Toko did either but as we crossed a shallow stream a sharp pain shot through my arm. As I looked down all I saw was blood covering it and my hand, I moved it and there in my skin glistened a silver bullet. It wasn't deep in my arm it had mearly punctured the skin and a bit of muscle with it.
