*A few months later*
*Kyoko's pov*

Me and Makoto held off getting married until Hina had had her baby, we knew that the baby wouldn't care but she hadn't been too well. Soul spent nearly all day everyday with her and in the times he went to sleep, I would get up and stay with her in the doctors office. Often Lydia or Toko would join me.

Seeing Hina like this really upset Lydia, they had always been close. I knew she would be okay however, I just don't think being pregnant in times like this was easy. We never really got to relax and most of the time it was stressful.

In Asahina's defence things wouldn't be easy for her even if she was feeling okay, she was absolutely massive. She had a bigger belly than me or Toko ever did. Maybe that was due to the amount of weight everyone had lost as none of us got to eat much, so it was more obvious and a significant change.

Nita was now probably nearly a fully grown dog, and she was rather large, well I hoped soon she would stop growing. She had a redish brown coat with white creamy markings, kind of like one of those Akita dogs. She also now wore Wolf's old collar and we would take her out on Wolf's lead.

One evening I was sat with Hina along with Lydia as Soul had gone to have a nap before he took over from me.

"Would you rather have a boy or a girl?" Lydia asked her.

"I don't really think I mind which I have" she smiled back at her as she felt her stomach, "the baby's kicking" she smiled.

"Can I feel it?" Lydia asked nervously.

"Of cause, just put your hand here" Hina smiled as she put her hand where the kid was kicking.

"Wow" Lydia gasped, "Mum feel it!"

"Believe me I felt it enough when I was pregnant with you and Roma" I told her.

"What's it like to be pregant?" Lydia asked us.

Me and Hina looked at each other before I replied, "not terribly fun, and also it can be painful"

Lydia look at Hina scared.

"However it doesn't always feel like that, it's hard to explain" Hina chipped in.

"Is the baby hurting you, Auntie Asahina?" Lydia asked her.

"No not at the moment" she replied cheerfully.

We both stayed with Hina a little longer until it was dark and I told Lydia to go back and get some rest. She was reluctant but finally left to go to bed, I stayed with Hina so she wouldn't be alone until Soul got up.

"How are you really feeling?" I asked her once we were alone.

"Crap" she replied, "I just don't want Lydia to worry about me"

"I understand that" I sighed, "she won't let me come here alone"

"It's nice to see someone care as much as she does about me" Hina half smiled.

"We all care a lot, it's just some of us *cough* Byakuya, have a hard time expressing it" I replied.

"I know but you know, I think I just love how close me and Lydia got, she really accepted me"

I didn't reply and slowly we fell into silence.

I must have fallen asleep with Asahina as I was woken up by being hit in the head. I had slumped to rest my head on Hina's bed from where I was sat. Forcefully I snapped awake and looked around. Soul wasn't there but Asahina was awake and seemed in a lot of pain.

"What's wrong?" I asked her as I got to my feet.

"I think the baby's coming" she told me.

"Hold it for a sec, I'll go and grab Soul and the doctor" I told her as I went to leave.
