Song of the Chapter: Play Me Like A Violin - Stephen

#14

The wolf released a growl as I stared into those deep olive green eyes.
"Pearly?" I gulped as Ash flicked his eyes to me in confusion.

Then I'm knocked to the ground with great force, my back hits a rock earning a painful gasp.
The wolf roars into my face its saliva dripping down the side of my neck.

"Okay, you're not Pearly." An ice sword forms in my hold as I push the giant form of my body which was a great struggle let me tell you.

Some of the wolves attacked Ash but he fought them off by kicking those to the ground his the back of his foot and knuckles.

I felt sharp teeth against my arm as another wolf beckoned me into a corner where two other wolves stood behind me.

Suddenly my vision glitched and I swung the sword in front of me, feeling it slice through service as a male groan followed.

I open my eyes and drop the blade. Ash is on top of me flames of fire dripping of the tips of his hand.
He lowers his hand as a cut bleeds on his chest.

"I've cut you." I realize and Ash press a hand firmly to his front trying to stop the blood. I rip a side of my sleeve with my teeth pressing the material against the  pouring wound.

"This place is strange." Ash grunted wincing when I gently held the cloth his side.

"Do you think it's the pie?" I suggest still examining the cut created by my own hands. The Fire Prince looks like in deep thought and then seems to nod in agreement.

"Those berries did look strange." He adds with a quick shake of his head.
I release a deep sigh, and sit back ripping another piece of my shirt forming a bandage.

"Thank you." He mumbled pressing my hand further into his warm chest. Our eyes interlock as he said the word and I feel my eyes jump to our hands.

"It's okay." I answer suddenly feeling very awkward. He then pulls down to the ground and I rearrange his cloak.

"I guess we will have to stay the night here." I admit and fight the anxiety from crawling into my senses.

I moved towards the only source of light I had which was the bonfire. My shoulders tensed up at every little noise. I sat there my teeth clenched together.
The bonfire was brighter than my future that was certain.
