If it wasn't for the great compromise that King Darren had pulled out from under his lip, I would never in the million years have myself stumble across such an unfortunate experience. The darkness was not what terrified me the most, it was the fact that somewhere, out there, was Skylar probably laughing at my stupid slouched over figure trying to claw at thin air.

"I can hear your heart drumming against my ears. It's so fast, I'd think you feel scared - no better - you are stuck." His silky yet very arrogant tone flowed from every direction.

"Stuck at what to do and how to act; you feel highly insecure about your powers. You feel absolutely played because you cannot see a speck of light." At this point I was convinced the Prince of Darkness was talking to himself. The phrases and sentences that escaped his mouth did not make half sense, even if to him it did. But I could use that for my purposes, I could use his insanely bubbly self to create my own act, and surely succeed in winning at it. A speck of light actually began igniting from the pendant that Ray gave me. But I instantly tucked it away - learning that any light source would provoke Skylar just like when Ray tried to place light into the room and ended up attacked. Not that I doubted that the Prince of Darkness wouldn't strike.

"Do you think you can tell me more about why do you need the Ice Key?" I monotone quietly, making it just the enough level that nobody but the two of us hear. The air surrounding me just turned colder, Skylar's voice now sounding closer.

"Haven't your mother ever told you, it's not nice to pry?" A question answered with a question. How original of him.

"I never really had a mother to begin with." I stammered when my spine came in contact with a frigid surface of the wall. I needed to find a loop, something that would aid me in completion of this round. This just couldn't be a dead end. I refused to believe it, even if he backed me right into a corner.

"What about you? Had an eventful childhood I assume?" The question earned several chuckles for me across the room. The coldness returned, just like Skylar has. And that was my loop. I had to focus on the freezing temperature and air. My powers were ought to guide me in the correct direction.

"Not the greatest, but I'm not complaining." His face was directly in front of mine his cold breath fanning my cheek. I saw just about the outline of his hair, my hand reached out brushing against his jawline. Skylar went very still, his fingers covered my palm preventing me from moving it. Meanwhile an ice sword formed in the crook of my other hand which I kept to the side.

"You're so predictable." He whispered as I took a swing at his body. It instantly blended with the abyss that enveloped me tightly. I breathed rapidly as fear consumed my body. I missed my chance, what would Skylar do now?

My eyes darted around, even if I saw nothing just pitch black I tried my utmost best to feel something - anything. The cold that now entered my body was so much less welcoming. In fact, it made me shake in fear.

The shadow is here.

"Skylar." I whispered my knees threatening to fold themselves and cause me to drop to the ground. Several low growls rang throughout the space. My blood ran cold, I split the ice sword into two separate daggers and swung those around my body just in case the shadow decided to attack me right now.

"DOWN!" Skylar's voice echoed and I gave into the weakened feeling of my knees and fell hitting the floor. Crashes followed somewhere to my left, several grunts and then nothing.

Seconds later I felt the obnoxious monster surge right through me. The pain that came over me was so much more intense, it was ripping me apart. Screams broke through my mouth as the shadow explored my head. I clawed at my hair curling into a ball as my insides turned over. Then a loud screech followed, so loud the cameras on the ceiling exploded and my ears began to bleed. The darkness vanished as light flooded in, my eyes pried open to connect with Skylar who was breathing just as hard as I was. I trembled noticing the black spider veins appear.
