I should have thrown the girl off when I still had the chance.
After all, it was her damn fault that I was sitting knotted in a rope. By who? Oh, her prick of a brother who did not even question my state. Not a single, "Are you alright? Are you cold?" Because I was cold - I was freezing. My teeth clashed against one another like swords in a battle, and it's been a while since the last shiver has jumped across my skin.
"For the thousandth time!" I called to the pale man who strode ahead. "I did not kidnap your sister!" My voice echoed into the snow-dusted forest. As soon as the yell left my lips, my tracheal walls constricted and some sort of foreign itch shot up my nose. I let out a sound of the highest pitch. A sneeze. Then a barely audible snicker somewhere at the front followed. I screamed louder. "I WANT OUT RIGHT THIS INSTANT!"
I hoped that my command would have an effect on them, a long way before I considered the dangers revealing my identity could bring. It did on Frostine, she gave me a scare-eye and then hid behind her brother. But Frost, he turned to me, eyes unreadable and then chuckled to himself. Bastard. What an absolute bastard.
"My ass is freezing out here! Get me a blanket!" The second attempt was even less successful than the first.
"Pray that you get one in the village." He belted in a voice smoother than ice.
"We can't bring her to the village." Frostine suddenly panicked, looking over out of the corner of her eye.
"And why the hell not? We could use a coin." Frost arched an eyebrow and leisurely patted a small brown pouch circling his waist.
"Hold on. Coins? Village-" A cloth was forced into my mouth, and I gagged a little when my tongue swiped against the dry material.
"Less talking, more walking." He roughly pulled on the rope and I threw my palms before me to soften the stumble. I clung to my throat, a wheeze building up. Air- Air- Air. I need air!
"She's sick." Frostine muttered, angrily as if to spike her brother. "No one would buy a sick girl."
Whatever animalistic sounds were escaping me had gained Frost's attention almost immediately. Until I realized those sounds were far off in the trees behind us. Ruby He must have woken up from the drug Frost sprayed on him. I had to buy myself some time, to keep them talking until Ruby sniffed me out.
"She's healthy enough." His eyes switched from the pale girl to me. "We would get a fair deal too."
Frostine reached out and undid my gag, instantly I coughed my lungs full of cold air. Frost let out a menacing groan. "Put the damn thing back on!"
"She can't breathe! You want to give this a try?" She flung the cloth fiercely at his face. "HERE HAVE AT IT!" They kept yelling at each other, failing to notice how quickly I wriggled my wrists free. My head dipped low to gather another breath, a moment for the Ice Elemental to draw closer. I won't give in to this torture. I won't . Then I lifted my stronger leg and slammed my foot into Frost's chest. I saw the impact of the hit, even if it was little. My eyes became saucers when his hand grabbed my ankle and pulled. I fell flat on my face and then Frostine gave out a yelp as a snow heap covered me whole.
I chuckled deeply, no I was hysterical.
Did they want to sell me?"Let him try and sell me!" I exclaimed, unable to writhe with my numb limbs.
"See? Even the mutt agrees!" Frost countered my sarcastic remarks. Way to be blunt. When Frostine dug me out, I could not stand, hell, I could barely muster a reply. The cold air blew against my cheeks, hitting my skin like a sharp than a knife. The two elementals were absolutely unbothered by the cold.
