Song of the Chapter: Be Like You - Whethan
#23
I hid the book in my book, securely attaching the lock that came with it. The dangerous object was now hidden under my bed, wrapped in a white cloth.
I was also on my way to see one of the Princes. We had some matters to discuss and I was planning on making it sharp and short.
I knocked on the wooden door patiently tapping my foot.
The Prince opened the door yawning with nested hair. His eyes widened slightly, before he waved me in."Zach I need a favor." I spoke firmly when the boy pulled on a shirt to cover his well built stomach.
"I'm listening." He sat onto the bed his head pushing back as he laid back down and briefly closed his eyes.
"I know that Electrical elementals are very smart and always have a solution to everything."
"Mmhhm."
"And you have the technology to make anything." His eyes remained shut as he sucked air into his lungs.
"Mmhhm."
"Even make a clone of another object."
"Mmhhhhhm."
"Can you make a replicate of the Ice key?"
"Mmhhhm- Wait what?!" His eyes buldged open as he twisted his face to see me better.
"You heard right. I want you to make an exact copy of the Ice Key." The Prince went very still for a moment, his eyes staring at the specific spot on the beige wall opposite him. There was something formulating in his mind - an idea, I realised.
"Alright, say I'll do it. What am I going to get in return?" Only then his eyes met mine and I held his gaze for a bit longer.
"What do you want?" Zach's face broke into a smirk making me queasy in the stomach. Hungry piranhas raced inside my body as the male pulled himself upwards standing just inches away.
"Remember yesterday..." Zach paused his hand touching the side of my cheek. I went immobile under his soft contact and just stared into those light eyes.
"They served this garlic bread." Zach had a frown."They didn't have it today." His hand stroked my cheek for a bit longer before pulling away.
"I want that bread." My eyebrow rose just as his red cheeks. I laughed along with him whilst Zach struggled to compose his shaken up state.
"Okay, I'll get you that bread." I stood on my feet waltzing towards the door. I reached inside my petite pocket and drew out the Ice Key extending the object towards one of the people I didn't really trust. But at least Zach has not proven me that I couldn't trust him.
I gave the Ice Key over to him.
"Your skin will answer for its loss." Zach nodded placing it into the pocket of his trousers and straightened a little looking me over.
"Why do you need a copy?" The Electrical Prince desired to know. I averted my eyes at the digital clock on his bedside and resided to twist the doorknob.
"Eira, what is it you're hiding?" I froze in my tracks, sighing tiredly before regaining my original position.
"I can't tell you. No one. Sorry." The Prince got left standing in bewilderment but it was better this way. The less someone knew the better they slept at night. It was weirdly strange having this empty feeling inside my chest - as if something was misplaced. The copy of the Ice Key should buy be some time when Skylar destroys the shadow. That was the only option I had in order to prevent the dangerous event that could be rising if nothing is done. Skylar wanted to raise his army from the dead - basically. But then those troopers would wish to act upon their anger - they would want revenge from my family and my nation. I couldn't allow deaths, not under my watch.
