A new day, new Prince. It was stupid to assume I could just lay in my bed and successfully ignore the problems that needed to be dealt with.

The plan that Skylar formed was not too hard to follow. I had to provoke the shadow when it showed an appearance, the Prince claimed he will be there to save me when the culprit came.

"We have two more opponents left. Eira, do the favours." King Darren was pointing an index finger towards the two who stood in the row. The other Princes were separated but were present at the gathering nevertheless.

I would not force myself to meet Ash's flaming eyes. I felt the hotness in the room, it rose quickly, I had an idea the Prince would want to talk but I wanted to leave that for another time.

The whispers, they exceptionally loud this morning, people felt it was acceptable to discuss my state and mood this morning. Even the maids who usually kept their mouths closed decided to restrain from their usual habits.

I had no energy to put justice in place, the spider veins were turning darker worsening my wellbeing to an even lower level. I made my best attempt to avoid Nathan, although there was a chance that he could heal me. I simply refused to fulfill my father's want. The Water Kingdom had good connections with us, but their morals were impractical. I wouldn't be able to live in peace with so many not even understanding who an Ice Elemental was. Nathan deserved a better consort, I wasn't a lovely girl in a white satin dress that could steal his breath away. I was a numb, careless ancestor of the Ice Throne.

"Ray." I announced to the crowd that wasn't particularly interested any longer of the occurring. What a shame, thinking my father could actually captivate the other Elementals' attention by this.

The blonde boy with sunburned hair waltzed forwards. The elegancy of his steps was astounding, people turned to watch him stroll like a model of a fine Royal outfit collection. Many females had their jaws dropped to reach the floor bed, their eyes lulled back at the sight of the boy smiling at them with politeness.. Although most have confused it with adoration.

I took his palm, it was light and empty in my hold. The touch that I thought was ought to be warm was just..free.
It melted into my own comfort, not too hot or cold. It was just spot on.

Prince of Light guided us outside of the castle where some of the Elementals played sports, kicking a snowball around with some chanting names.

"COME HERE QUICK!" Prince requested and grabbed my hand. I ran along with him in a bit more worried way. The wild expression was a bad impression as people glances at us with judgement.

We reached a small market shop in the downtown. Ray went through the wooden doors and then came out with two clothing items. They both were of a regular white colour. The cloaks where made of regular, cheap material that didn't take long to shape. The Prince passed it to me and covered himself with one of his own. I arched an eyebrow but copied the action.

"I thought we both will spend a day dressed as regular Elementals. Not royalties, not anyone famous. Just ordinary." Ray informed me by pulling the cloak over my head. It nicely hid my well made gown and really prevented me from standing out from the crowd.

We would pass individuals of all types of Elementals, they never spared a glance. It was just like smooth surface of ice, inseparably blended in.

"This is amazing." I admitted as we stormed through the whole market, laughing and sharing jokes about our Royal lifes. We had so much in common, it reminded me how much I missed having a company of people that saw me beyond just a Princess. Surely being a Royal to one of the most respected Kingdoms had its advantages. I received pretty much everything that I wanted; not always what I needed though.

"What are you thinking about?" Ray asked as we settled just on the border of the Ice Land. It was a bouncy hill that offered us a nice white scenery. Oh how much I love cold.

"Just the simple things I appreciate in life." I shrugged wiggling my feet beneath the cliff that held us well high up in the air. Falling wouldn't cause a great impact, maybe a bunch of broken bones; something I could easily get away with.
I mean it's way more convenient that what my father is putting me through. How is he going to mold the deal between the Water and Ice Kingdoms? What will happen if others found the truth?

"You don't want to get married, do you?" I snapped my head towards Ray that exhibited a knowing to me feeling. Despondence.

"How did you know?" The question was rushed, as if I was dying to say it someone other than myself.

"You know, being part of Light Elemental I have the natural gift of sensing how happy a person is." Ray induced with a tiny smile that soon stretched into a wider one.

"You didn't seem happy today or yesterday, or the day before." We both snickered at his choice of words. I leaned back to gaze at the cold blue sky.

"Too much is happening in the world right. I just cannot manage it all on my own." I confess with a sad smile that plasters on my face, probably permanently. I hated feeling hopeless about situations like these. I couldn't act selfish and refuse a Prince, their father's would declare a war without blinking and that is something I am not holding responsibility over.

"Hey look!" Ray called and I lifted my chin assured something was wrong.

"What- oh." I watched pink tones and yellows paint the sky.

"Sunset." We both say in a monotone voice and exchange surprised glances.

"I don't want to get married either, and I have an idea on how to help you." The Prince of Light jollied rending a handful of grass from the sockets of earth.

"Why don't you want to get married?" I quivered not making eye contact with Ray who seemed to look right through me and my soul.

"Initially I was thrilled with the idea that your father has implemented. But then I came to my senses... I..want to experience more things in life, like watch the sunset and sunrise, and bathe in the sun till my skin turns golden. I don't even get burned, I just absorb this beauty like my second nature. I love the rays of the sun, it's the most alluring thing I have set my eyes on. I am too young to sit on a Throne all day. I'm not ready." The rant was enough to make me grin from head to toe.

"So what's your plan?" Ray chuckles keenly before rubbing his palms together.

"Okay, you pick me, regardless of who wins the next tasks. I will refuse your hand at the alter." I furrow my eyebrows giving the idea a thought. Could this work? Will I get out of this effectively?

"Aren't you scared there will be a war?" I threw the question up for debate. Ray inhaled deeply, coming up with a valid point in less than a second.

"I really hope there isn't. You could always throw a little speech about delaying the marriage to next year." I displayed a stern look and Ray pushed his hand out in defence.

"Okay, Okay, delay it for five years." I laid back to watch the sky whilst Ray moved to lay next to me.

"You know what, I'll think about it." I agreed and concentrated on the white clouds that occupied the darker blue canvas. Ice Kingdom was always cloudy during the day and during the night, well it was cloudy too.

"You're glowing right now. That means you're happy." The Prince of Light laughed softly when I examined my own hands thinking I was actually sparkling. But no, The ability did pass only to the Light wielders.

"I've got you something." Ray whispered rising from the ground and I stiffly sat up with a gentle smile.

The necklace he fastened around my neck was so delicate, with a small white gemstone that so reminder me of ice.

"Don't ever lose that spark, it makes you..you." That was the last thing Ray said to me before we called it a day and went separate ways.

As the pendant glowed during the night when I woke up during the night, I noticed something.

The spider veins I was so worried about turned a softer grey color.
Light was getting rid of the darkness inside of me as cheesy as that sounded.
