There was approximately two hours for me to change into comfortable clothes before I had to meet Skylar in the selected spot, and what did I do? I went to the library.

There were several things that I was searching for in the grand hall, but they all fell under a pretty conceived category - answers.  Before I could even think about being alone with the Prince of Darkness I had to have a specific idea of what to expect - not that we had not been alone before. This was critical. If I chose the right time to educate myself on everything that I could get hands on, then it would be right now.

I located the book fairly quickly, my dress came falling to the floor as I bent over to pick the old thing up. The dark dusty cover was indicating just how old the instalment was - and by the looks of it, a couple of decades definitely. I paused for a moment, making sure no one was around was important, this was a very significant time that quite likely was about to help me solve of these questions that I have been dying to find out the answers to.

I flicked through the book, passing all of the elements which had their own designated section. The first came the four prior elements - Water, Earth, Air and Fire. A myth was pulsing around since when I was child, mentioning how the first prime elements were always the strongest ones. Then for the reasons of the unknown, other sub-elements were discovered. People that could not wield any of the first four elements concluded that they just did not have the ability to wield anything - but they were wrong, very wrong. A few hundred years later, Ice came about. Many assumed that it was  related to the element of water- since ice is just frozen water - you know what I mean, and I guess in a way they were right. Only that there was no explanation as to how other sub-elements came about. How did Electricity came about? Or Light and Darkness? At some point the Elders of the prior elements decided that maybe it was for the better. If no one knew about how elements were created, it would keep everyone safe. When great Elders passed away, there were people, up in the hierarchy who tried everything out there just to get information squeezed out from the owners who kept journals locked away in an unnamed location - and they have never got any of those in the end. The book that I held in my hands had literally zero on the Darkness Element. There was just the symbol of the element, but nothing to follow its meaning.

I shuffled around the library for a bit longer, in hopes to find anything that would clearly show me what I wanted to find out. There had to be an explanation, maybe not for everything, but certainly for this. A loud thud made my heart practically jump out of my ribcage socket. I thought I was caught with my numb hands but it seemed like no one was in the hall. The only trace of the noise was the misplaced rough stack of old papers that had a very intricately dark cover. Slowly I left the mess I have made near the book shelves and adjusted myself more comfortably next to the abnormal material. It was frigid when I touched its rough scaly surface, gulping a chunk of saliva I decide to remove the dark rusty lock that prevented the book from successfully opening. I pressed onto the small mechanism and the lock fell apart crashing to the floor with a sharp cling.

I  began examining its insides, dissecting this object inside-out, there was nothing unusual just a few rough sketches of the different figures and bold curvy titles that were in a language I could simply not read. I was second away from detaching myself from this journal until my eye landed on the section that openly stated.

Dreading Darkness Are We?

I froze on the spot, blinking twice.

Don't You Just Enjoy the Chills?

Did it just...I blinked again.

Darkness is Endless.

It was getting creepy very quickly. I took a deep breath in.
