My eyes fluttered open to find myself surrounded with a black cloak, dropped over me like a protective blanket. It was all nice and cozy.

However there was a problem.

I had dry leaves in my nested hair which meant I couldn't look presentable because hello if you haven't noticed I am helpless without Anna. I also began to realise I should give her more appreciation for what she does for me. The fact that she puts up with my constant rumbling and nonsense always had her close to my heart.

But back to the point. The state of my hair was NOT the problem. It was the giant two nostril nose that sniffed my face that was the problem.

I jump to my feet taking a few seconds to adjust to the bright light shining at my face.
Breathe. Breathe. Breathe.

But if being completely honest..I had no time to breath considering this enormous dragon growled lifting it's large paws and dragging my body closer. There was a large fire red eyes on each side of its head.

I took in rough scales that covered its body in dark worn out red. My heart sunk as the powerful growl machine dropped to its knees in front of me and whined.

I flinch at first but then my eyes land on the thick dagger inserted into the monster's side just below its wing.

"You're hurt." I say, trailing an easy hand down the harsh scales until I reach the stuck blade. Looking back to the dragon I watch it freeze on the spot not moving, giving me permission to proceed further.

Biting my lips, I nervously wrap my fingers around the edge of the dagger giving one last glance at the scaly dragon before with one swift motion I pulled it out.
The wild animal gave out a shriek of pain as it met my eyes in shock.
I lift my hand up showing the weapon stuffed in my hand.

"I've got it out, it was hurting you!" I reassure it, while it stares at the pocket knife for a few long seconds.
Then it exhales some air and gets up on its feet twisting the head towards me in a suspicious gesture.

"Good dragon. Very good dragon." I said hearing anxiousness clearly in my voice.

The dragon opened its monstrous mouth displaying the sharpest teeth I've yet had seen. One yellow tooth was the length of my leg. He could swallow me whole and wouldn't even notice it.

It took a big sniff of my body and then...purred?

It purred softly as a snow leopard, I used to have as a pet. The giant body rubbed its sticky nose against my face and I could only squirt under its very glue-y germs. Very not nice.

So this was the scary, merciless, human-hungry monster that everyone feared? It sure didn't look that hungry. It was as playful as a baby penguin, maybe quite different in size but still very...friendly.

"Good boy!" I giggled rubbing the side of his belly to which it began tapping its large foot.

The next was the sudden rustle of the leaves that caught my attention and had me alerted.
Sense heightened I took a look at the bushes around until I felt something pointy at my neck. Whoever this was had great skill, as I did not sense them coming.
