China - 2023

The X-Jet lowered in China as Professor X managed to find the mind of the little girl who could be the key to saving them all. They all started to gather around. Bobby held the girl's hand tightly, she was excited but silently worried that all of them gathering in one place would definitely not go unnoticed by the sentinels who would come to kill them all. But she was excited to see the X-Men again who would hold the key to ending this war. And that was something worth smiling about.

The first one to come out was Storm, followed by Magneto, then Professor X floated out, Allie made her way out, with Logan coming out last to light up his cigar.

"Mom," the girl cheered, she ran over to her mother and pulled her into a right embrace.

"Melanie," she gushed, she hadn't seen her daughter in so long. She had grown up so much.

Bobby walked over to his wife and daughter and wrapped his arms around both of them.

"Hey kid," Wolverine greeted to the little girl. He was her guardian between ages 3 to 8 years old before she could learn to fend for herself. He was rather fond of the little girl. She had the biggest eyes he had ever seen.

"Professor, you made it," Melanie greeted.

They all gathered inside as it was more safe to remain out of right then in clear view.

Melanie, despite only being thirteen years old was the one who was in charge of saving them. She had to explain to the Professor why had survived as long as they managed to. She was next to her parents who were listening to their daughter. A teen girl who was basically the hope for a better future. "Whenever the Sentinels attack, Warpath spots them... then I send Bishop back to warn us of the attack before it happens. Blink scouts the exit site... and then we leave before they ever know we were there."

Warpath added, "because... we never were."

Wolverine was having a hard time keeping up. "What do you mean you were never there?"

"Melanie projects Bishop back in time a few days to warn the others... of the coming attack," Professor X explained for the others who didn't understand the girls amazing abilities of time and space manipulation. Of which she used to push people through the fourth dimension through time.

He was still not clear on how this all worked. "So she needs Bishop back in time?"

"No, just his consciousness, into his younger self. His younger body," Professor X continued, being completely mesmerized at her abilities from such a young age.

"Wow," Logan nodded.

Magneto turned to his old friend. The two of them had reunited over their differences when the future was threatened for extinction. The two of them had spent the last eight years trying to find an answer to saving this future. And now here it was in the form of a little girl named Melanie. "This might just work, Charles."

"What might work?" Melanie asked.

"The Sentinel program was originally conceived by Doctor Bolivar Trask," Charles explained, knowing Melanie was too young to remember anything past the Sentinel times. "In the early '70's, he was one of the world's leading weapons designers. But, covertly, he had begun experimenting on mutants... using their gifts to fuel his own research. There was one mutant who has discovered what he was doing."
