Chapter Nineteen | I'll Stand By You

Raven got on the table and pointed her gun at Trask. After a lot of hard work, was finally going to pay off. He murdered her friends and countless other mutants for his experiments to create machines to kill more mutants out there. He deserved to die for what he had done. He would be her first kill and she didn't even think about it twice. That was until five people ran up the stairs into the room that distracted her as she looked at the familiar faces.

"Raven!" Charles screamed, before it was too late and she fired that gun and ensured the future that Logan had been warning them about. But with her distracted, Stryker was able to shot her with a taser gun. She fell onto the table. Charles ran over to her. "Raven! Raven!"

Erik used his powers to remove the teasers from her and threw them onto Stryker. Rosemary went to comfort her former best friend. "Raven?"

"Rose?"

"We've come for you, Charles and Erik, all of us together again." Rose smiled widely and rubbed her blue cheek, remembering all the good times they had together when they loved together.

Mystique couldn't believe that the girl who was so baffled by her leaving could still love her so much that they all came here to save her. It made her heart well up a bit. "I never thought I...I'd see you again."

Charles approached his wife and Raven. He looked down at her as well. "I'm going to keep you safe, I'm going to keep you out of their hands."

That's when Erik looked around and realized something about all this running and how they could truly save the future. Even if Raven went with Charles, it was only a matter of time until she was found and the future Logan described became theirs. But if Raven was to die before that, then there was hope for a better future. So he realized that he would have to kill her for the rest. He used his powers to bring Raven's gun into his hands and he pointed it past the two other adults and towards his former lover and follower.

"Erik?" She questioned, seeing him point the gun at her.

"Erik, what are you doing?" Charles asked.

"Securing our future. Forgive me, Mystique. As long as you're out there we'll never be safe."

"Erik," Rosemary tried to plead with her eyes, despite her feelings towards him, she was giving him the chance to do the right thing and not shoot her.

"Use your powers, Charles, stop him," Raven suggested, as that would be the easiest course of action.

"He can't," Erik stated.

Just as Erik is about to shoot the gun, Raven got off the table and jumped out of the window. Hank threw himself at the man to keep him from shooting her. It caused the gun to fall and shot, and the bullet followed Raven our the window and hit Raven in her leg as she fell to the ground and whined in pain. Both from the fall and the bullet in her leg.

Erik floated out of the window and watched Mystique (who was in disguise) try to limp away. As the bullet was still in her leg, he used it to drag her across the floor vet to him. She shifted back into her mutant form in front of him and felt her eyes well up with tears. "No! Erik!"

Back in the hotel, something seemed off about Logan. Instead of following after them. He was looking around his surroundings very confused by it all.

"Where am I?"

"Huh?" Charles asked.

"How the hell did I get here?"

"What? You came to us."

"Who are you?"

"Charles." Suddenly Logan grabbed him by the shirt and held out his claws threatening him. "Charles Xavier!"
