"Look at her. She is just so perfect."
"She hasn't seen the world beyond this hospital."
"She's just filled with so much purity and innocence. I never want it to change. She is so calm."
"I love her so much already."
Rosemary was changed out of her nightdress into a blue hospital gown, slippers, and robe. Her dark brown hair was pulled into a bun. She was exhausted. Eighteen hours. Eighteen hours of constant pain until she finally had her baby. Charles was there the entire time like he promised her that he would. He was so very tired, but he couldn't take his eyes off his daughter. He had a daughter, he never imagined that was possible. But here she was. All pink and silent. She must have been resting. Rose had her hand on the glass. Enjoying the time that no one was currently there.
Hank had seen her, but he had to go back to the school and watch over it since Charles needed to stay with his wife and daughter. Elizabeth and Nathan (Rose's parents) came to see their brand new granddaughter, and of course gave their opinions on the girl and how to raise the baby. They had the baby come to their room, but they wanted to get a look at her again. Rose should be laying down and recovering from labor a few hours ago. But she was feeling fine. She just wanted to get to hold her baby whenever she wanted to.
"She has your eyes," Charles stated, looking up at her. He couldn't see her eyes now as they were opened a bit, he could see those hazel beauties.
She nodded and smiled. Her daughter was finally here. It was unbelievable that she could have brought something so tiny and beautiful into this world. Charles couldn't believe it any more than her, he was a mess and yet his daughter was this angel. He would have to become twice better than he was for this little girl. She was the world.
"You should lay down, Rose."
"I know," she nodded, but she didn't take her eyes off the small infant that was turning slowly. "But I can't take my eyes off of her."
"I agree, Alice is nothing short of miraculous."
"I wanna hold her again."
"She's resting, love. She has just been through a lot as well. You should rest as well. They'll bring her to us soon enough, and you don't want to be tired when they do."
She yawned. She hadn't slept in eighteen hours and her lower body hurt, even if she was just standing still. It was a thirty second walk over to her room. Maybe she could use some sleep. She looked at the baby one more time and then at her husband. "Okay. But can you watch her. I want her to know that her daddy is watching her, even if her mommy isn't. I'll see you in a bit."
"Of course," he promised. What she said made no sense since the baby didn't even know what parents were. But he liked what she said. She leaned down a bit and kissed his forehead and then walked away to her room.
He had been so very the moon with joy when Rose told him that he would have another chance at being a father. The first time around, he was just so happy. He didn't care what happened to the school, Raven, Erik, or anything else. He was going to be a father. When he found out that he wasn't going to be a father. It destroyed him. He had to be stronger than Rose about it since it made her sick. But now that he found out he was going to have another chance, he was sure something would happen to prevent that. But when he learned he was going to have another chance at it, he promised he wouldn't take it for granted.
He looked into Logan's mind and got to see bits of what was to come in his future. But he was determined to make the best of what he could and I try to copy it to the exact memory. But the one thing he was looking forward to was seeing that he and Rose did have a child. A daughter. He didn't know when she would be born or what she was going to be called. If she was the first or last of their possible children. All he knew was that she would take after his side more, but would have her mother's hazel eyes and wavy locks. So he couldn't wait to have a chance to meet her.
