Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters - 1968

It had been six years since that day on the each. Three years ago Charles finally managed to open up the school that he had been planning since what happened in Cuba. Rosemary joined Charles in his dream and was working as a guidance counselor and a den mother to watch over the children. They had all grown a liking to her. She was a very likable person. Charles was growing more used to his wheelchair but she could tell that he wasn't very happy in it. But the school was up and functioning. So he seemed happy enough.

Rosemary was seated in Charles office. She had her back pressed to the back of one of the arms of the chair. Her knees were pulled up to her chest. One of her legs was hanging low, swinging and dragging on the floor while she hummed to herself. She had another book held firmly in her hands. She often enjoyed reading in the free time she managed to find.

There wasn't much to do around the house currently. Charles and Hank had been very busy working on something, of which she didn't know what exactly it was. They had been going to Hank's lab a lot of the time but he would never tell her what it was when she asked. Something top secret, so Rosemary decided to ignore it. Luckily she managed to find a book that she hadn't read already, so she decided to make herself comfortable in Charles's office and read it.

Minutes made their ways to hours as she made her way through the book. That's when she put it down and opened up another book to read. Completely engrossed in the words on the page, she was snapped into a fictional world, until she heard someone clear their throat. She must have been reading for much too long because she was completely alone before.

Rosemary looked up to see something she thought she'd never see again. She out the book down on Charles's desk and pushed back some hair behind her ear.

"Charles?" She whispered.

"Hello Rose," he smiled.

He took a wobbly step forward, she couldn't believe it. She flipped her legs so she was sitting straight to make sure she was watching this correctly. He took another step forward using the wall for support, so she jumped out of the chair and rushed over to help him. She wrapped her arms around his to help support him, and also give him a hug.

"How are you walking?" Rosemary questioned holding onto him tightly to him.

"Hank created a serum, there are some side effects, but I don't need my chair anymore," he smiled, hugging her in return.

She smiled at him, "this is great. But what side effects?"

"Don't worry, Rosemary, my love. Do you remember what I promised you, just before I ended up in the chair?" He questioned.

~*~Flashback~*~

The night before they would have to stop Shaw during the Missiles crisis, Rosemary found comfort in freely dancing around the parlor. She kept dancing until she heard some snickering.

She turned around and saw Charles and Erik standing behind her. They had probably been there a long time watching her dance. She wondered how long. She felt a bit embarrassed and giggled a bit.

"Very nice, Rosemary," Erik chuckled.

She glared at him with a smirk on her face. She walked over and grabbed Charles's hands.

"Dance with me Charles," she begged.

"Not now darling, but after tomorrow, I will dance with you all you want to."

She pouted and nodded her head in agreement.

~*~ End of Flashback ~*~

"You want to dance?" She laughed softly, clearly remembering that night. It was one of the last very good days she had. Everything about it was perfect. She couldn't believe any of this. "You can barely stand up."

"It's worth falling onto my arse to see you smile," he smiled softly.

He leant over to the radio turning it on. Music surrounded them as he wrapped his arms around her as they started to to slowly dance together in the middle of his office. Rose moved slowly for him. She couldn't help but look at him with a smile on her face never wavering. She was worried about him and these supposed side effects. But he seemed so happy and she was living every moment of their dance. She rested her head on his chest, listening to his heart beat.

"I love you, Charles," Rosemary smiled softly as they danced.

"I love you too, Rose."
