Rose loved dancing. It was her favorite thing to do when she had some free time to herself. Tomorrow the day they would be facing off with Shaw. She she was trying to enjoy the night like it was the last night they had left of earth. She had a good dinner with the rest and now she was enjoying some time alone. She had earlier been talking with Raven who went to her room to take a shower. But Rose had other plans. She was looking for her boyfriend when she found a nice parlor room with two chairs and a chess board. She turned on the record player and put down a disc.
Suddenly she found herself dancing astound the room slowly. Moving her feet and swaying her hips around. She was graceful in her moves and she moved so freely as her brown hair flowed behind her. She felt so calmed down for this first time in such a long time. She was having her hair flop around loosely, she was in a long creme blouse with a sensible amount of cleavage, black miniskirt that went up to her mid-thigh, and black boots that went up to her knees.
She kept dancing until she heard laughter from behind her. She turned around and saw Charles and Erik standing behind her. They had probably been there a long time watching her dance. She wondered how long. She felt a bit embarrassed and giggled a bit.
"Very nice, Rosemary," Erik chuckled.
She glared at him with a smirk on her face. She walked over and grabbed Charles's hands.
"Dance with me Charles," she begged.
"Not now darling, but after tomorrow, I will dance with you all you want to."
She pouted a bit and the grinned a bit. "Fine maybe Erik will dance with me instead."
He shook his head. "Unfortunately I will have to decline, Rose."
"Too bad," she sighed twirling over to the record player and turning it off. She walked over to Erik and stood on her tip toes because he was nearly a foot taller than her. He still had to lean down a bit. She kissed his cheek. "Goodnight, Erik. Sweet dreams." She walked over to her boyfriend and peck him on the lips ever so softly, "see you when you get back to the room." She leaned over to his ear and whispered. "I hope you'll find time to do what I had planned for us tonight."
He smiled with great delight think about what she was talking about. "Of course, love."
With that she sashayed away with the boys watching her walk away. Leaving them to play a game of chess and talk amongst each other.
As the night progressed, the elephant in the room came forth for them.
"Cuba. Russia, America. It makes no difference. Shaw has declared war on mankind, on all of us. He has to be stopped. I'm not going to stop Shaw. I'm going to kill him. Do you have it in you to allow that? You've known all along why I was here, Charles." Erik had been saying the same thing from the beginning of this mission. Since they met Charles knew that his end goal was to kill Shaw. Unfortunately things got complicated as he grew close to Charles and Rosemary, which meant he cared what happened to them and didn't want them to think otherwise. So he prepared them with reminding them that nothing had changed.
"But things have changed," Charles argued, he was always a firm believer that anyone could change. That things had changed as they all grew closer. They were a team and Erik had quickly became a friend.
"What started as a covert mission, tomorrow, mankind will know that mutants exist. Shaw, us, they won't differentiate. They'll fear us. And that fear will turn to hatred." Erik had seen it all before. Having people he loved and cared for being torn apart. The torture. The pain. He never wanted to feel that again and he would never wish for his friends to feel the pain that he had once felt so long ago.
