Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters - 1970

Everything was starting to fall apart piece by piece.

Students had started to pull out of the grade because they had to enlist as the Vietnam war raged on. Which is causing the amount of students to go down significantly. He might even have to close down the school until the war would have ended in order to get more students. But Rosemary tried to convince him that they should remain open. Bit that simply meant they were spending much more time and taking over more classes due to the lack of faculty.

Currently Charles was covering for a women's studies class, of which he felt out of place at. Then there were multiple students that needed to speak to the guidance counselor for help and support. But Rosemary was no where to be seen or heard from. So Charles went looking for her. He asked Hank, and he hadn't seen her around either. Which was odd. It was like she vanished off the face of the earth.

Charles wheeled himself into the kitchen and found Rosemary there cooking something. She turned and smiled and him nonchalantly. As if she didn't disappear all day and leave the boys to cover all her classes for her. He wasn't holding a grudge but he needed an answer. He deserved that much for a girl who had been very closed off lately. And he couldn't just read her mind to find out.

"Love, what are you doing? Where have you been all day? You completely disappeared all day."

"Oh, sorry about that, honey," she apologized. But despite that she had the largest grin on her face. She was practically bursting with joy. "I was just at the hospital."

"Oh, are you alright?" He asked wheeling closer, but she decided to walk a bit closer to make it easier on him.

"It seems I've come down with something," she snickered.

He raised an eyebrow, "what?"

"A baby," she laughed, feeling her cheeks warm up and her eyes begin to mist up with tears as she announced to her husband that she was carrying their first child.

He was shocked and surprised to say the least. But all in a good way. He wasn't sure if he understood, but he knew she was telling the truth. She was indeed pregnant with their baby. He could feel just how happy she was. He could feel his eyes most up as well. He held out his hands for her to come closer. She walked over and stood in front of him, he hugged her stomach and rested his head where the child would be.

"This is the greatest news I have ever heard, thank you Rosemary, thank you so much." He just held onto her. She let the tears just fall down her cheeks as she smiled. They were going to be parents in a few months. Have a little boy or a girl. Either way, they would have a family together. Which is all Rose wanted. He rubbed her back. She soon sat down on his lap so they could hold each other in this blessed moment. "Thank you, thank you so much, my love."

Short chapter. More coming soon.
