CHAPTER 3:
BABE
SONG FOR CHAPTER:
LIKE THAT BY JACK AND JACK

"Dani! Time to wake up! It's your first day of school" The familiar voice of Daniel's mother yelled from the bottom of the stairs. Of course it being around eight in the morning, Daniel wasn't fully awake yet. He groaned before flipping to the other side of his bed. But of course the sun was shining through his window on that side and he just covered his entire body with the blankets. "Daniel now!" His mom yelled a few minutes later. She didn't hear any movement from his room, and so she assumed he wasn't getting up.

She was right.

"Alright fine! I'm up" Daniel yelled back. He tugged the blankets from his body and sat up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and moved his body so his feet were dangling off the edge. He really didn't want to go to a new school. He didn't want to have to be new to everything. And considering that he isn't able to control his powers as easily, he was more of an outsider. It was hard for him to make friends. He barely had friends in his old town. They only really liked him because he had more powers than just one. It was cool to everyone, but him. So while Daniel was trying his hardest to not go insane, all his other classmates would clap at his amazing performance.

Just thinking about going to school, made Daniel sigh. And honestly right now, he didn't have the strength to even get ready. So taking a deep breath and focusing as hard as he can, Daniel snapped his fingers and hoped for the best. Luckily when he opened his eyes again he was in a descent outfit. It consisted of a simple thin white sweater and matching dark jeans. Smiling at his accomplishment, not a second later he heard his mom shout his name. She seemed upset. Daniel lightly cringed and went to his door. He peaked his head out, and had already seen his mother standing before him with a frown and drenched in coffee clothing.

"Sorry" he mumbled, wiping a few droplets of coffee from her face. She just huffed and walked to her bedroom. Daniel sighed, before making his way towards the bathroom to freshen up his hygiene. He did his business, before looking in the mirror. His hair was sticking up in different places, and he looked like a vampire from how pale he seemed. And when he breathed into his hand, he scrunched his nose from the awful smell. So making sure he got every spot in his mouth, Daniel brushed and rinsed. He styled his hair up in it's normal look, before again rubbing at his face hoping color would come back.

"Daniel, let's go! Don't wanna be late!" He eventually heard his mother shout. He didn't even think he was in the bathroom for that long. But when exiting and looking over the railing, he could see his mother waiting by the door twirling the keys around her finger. He quickly walked to the front door and slipped on his shoes. He grabbed his bag off of the hook and ran a hand through his hair. His mother raised an eyebrow at him, before pouting adoringly.

"What?" Daniel asked and tilting his head confused. His mother just chuckled before walking out the door. The brunette was highly confused now. His mom was just irritated at him for his powers accidentally spilling coffee on her; and now she's laughing at him like he has gum in his hair. It was highly confusing. Not wanting to think about it, Daniel just followed her to the car. He would have drove himself, but his mother needs a way to get to and from her new job.

The drive to the school was pretty silent. Unless you count Daniel occasionally mumbling to some of the songs that played on the radio. And just like before his mom would giggle or snicker at him. Daniel had no idea what was so funny and decided to ask her about it. So once they had parked in front of the school, the brunette teenager faced his mother and furrowed his eyebrows.
