CHAPTER 6:
FLASHES
SONG FOR CHAPTER:
ARMOR BY LANDON AUSTIN

Daniel sat up gasping for air. His heart was beating at a fast pace; and it seems that a major headache was beginning to form. He grabbed his head and hissed in pain. And when looking around he realized that he was back in his room. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, because the last thing he remembered was being at the school building. It hurt to think though. It felt like someone was pounding a hammer against his skull. Daniel groaned and stood to his feet. Almost instantly, he fell back down onto his bed feeling weak all over. He tried again, but failed miserably. He felt worse than when he has a simple flu. So trying to push away all thoughts and responsibilities at the moment, he curled into a ball on his bed and wrapped himself in his blankets.

"Mom!" He yelled out. Usually when he felt like this, he wanted major attention. Plus he wanted to know how he got home.

She didn't answer, but instead the sound of different feet and hushed voices making their way up the stairs. Daniel curled up and covered his entire body with the blankets. His mother would have responded before walking up the steps. So hearing something different kind of scared him a little. The people walking up the stairs could be burglars for all he knows, which he just alarmed by yelling out. The brunette whimpered and concentrated just in case it was a random stranger. And when hearing his bedroom door swing open, along with four other people walk in, Daniel jumped and accidentally shot a wave of power. His eyes went wide, but he soon relaxed when seeing who it was.

"Watch where you're shooting, aye!" Jack cursed and throwing his hands in the air. He even smoothed out his curls, thankful that they weren't touched. Daniel smiled lightly, and was going to respond, but a weight was being thrown on him. The form latched themselves onto the brunette and gave a tightening grip.

"Thank God you're okay!" Zach squeaked out. He kept his hold on the brunette before moving back some, so he was able to see Daniel's face. They smiled at each other. "Don't scare me like that ever again!" He instantly frowned after before smacking Daniel upside his head. The brunette scrunched his nose at the pain, before shoving Zach off of him. The pale boy huffed before crossing his arms and getting up so he was standing near the others.

"You're a lot stronger than I thought Dani boy" Jonah smirked and tilting his head lightly. Daniel would have felt tingly from the compliment, but instead felt guilt. He looked down at his hands and started biting onto his bottom lip harshly. The memories of almost hurting Dominic ran through Daniel's mind. He cringed and shook his head hoping that it would go away. Instead it kept replaying and the pain of the headache got stronger. He gripped his sheets and took deep breaths.

"Hey, it's okay. We know you didn't mean to loose control, and go bat shit crazy."

"Not helping Corbyn" Zach glared. The blonde rolled his eyes, before taking a seat near Daniel. Almost instantly the brunette tensed and moved away a few inches. Corbyn pouted. Zach walked over so he was sitting in front of Daniel. Again the brunette moved a little, so he wasn't so close. He just didn't want to hurt them.

"It's just me. It's alright" Zach grinned and lightly grabbing hold of Daniel's hands. The brunette flinched, quickly removing his hands from the pale boy. Zach simply grabbed them back, and locked their gazes. "Just relax."

Zach gave him a smile, which Daniel returned a few seconds later. And as if drifting off, Daniel felt his eyes shut tiredly. His vision flashed a few times before he suddenly was standing in a dark room. It was just him. No Zach, no bedroom. Just him standing in a dark room.
