CHAPTER 5:
LOOSING CONTROL
SONG FOR CHAPTER:
SHADOWS BY SABRINA CARPENTERIt was time to practice.
But he didn't want to.
Well actually it was an extra class that everyone gets, but Daniel didn't want to participate. It wouldn't look good for his first day impressions, but what did he have to loose? The answer: everything. It could go off of two ways. One: he ends up showing off his amazing special abilities, and every person loves him for it. Or two: he manages to spiral out of control, hurting someone in the process. Thought number two went through his mind a lot more than thought one did. He wasn't capable of playing around with his powers like most people do. To him it was scary. He rather be safe than sorry. Especially with how many people that were currently in his class. Someone could easily be hurt.
"Seavey! Get up and start practicing! I don't get paid for you to sit around all day!" The teacher instructed. Daniel couldn't tell if she was frustrated with him or not. Her voice never changed. And considering they were outside with the bright sun, she was wearing sunglasses to shield her eyes. He didn't want it to be that she was upset, so he simply got up from his spot on the bleachers and went down to the grassy field. His teacher wasn't a regular gym coach, no she did many different things. She was vice principal; taught English for all grades; and even helped some kids like a tutor. Her hair was always tied in a neat and tight bun, which complimented her strict suit look. She may have looked uptight and mean; but every time Daniel seen her walking in the halls, she was talking to someone with a bright smile.
And it's his first day.
"Over here Daniel!" The brunette snapped his gaze to the left, where he heard his name being shouted. He shifted his eyes to see that it was Jack and Corbyn calling out for him. He was still a little upset with them from lunch. But it was either them, or sit in a corner looking like a weirdo trying to concentrate on his powers.
People he knows it is.
Taking in a deep breath, he calmly made his way over. They seemed to be smiling like idiots, as he walked over. Or that was until they had seen his blank stare. Their smiles dropped into a frown and seemed to be a little on edge. Daniel didn't care though. He crossed his arms and started biting his bottom lip. He really didn't want to be here. Which made him lucky at the moment. He had this last class before he was able to leave; and maybe go check on Zach. He wasn't able to find the pale boy during lunch and considering he was lower in grade they didn't have any classes together. Daniel made it his duty to talk to him after school.
"You still can't be mad at us. We just didn't want you to become one of Dominic's victims" Jack stated and crossing his own arms. He licked his lips and moved his gaze to look at Corbyn quickly. The blonde seemed just as pouty about the whole thing.
"Yeah, you're too cute and innocent to be hurt" Corbyn huffed and taking a seat on the ground. He messed with the grass, causing it turn snow white under his touch. Absentmindedly he spelled out Daniel's name, causing the brunette to blush lightly. He shook the thought away, before focusing himself. And with a blink of his eye, the grass that Corbyn turned white had turned back to it's original healthy green color. The blonde male looked up and furrowed his eyebrows with a pout. Jack simply shook his head and gave a small chuckle.
"I can fully handle myself" Daniel muttered. He glanced between the other two teenagers, hoping they understood. "And I'm not just going to put my life in the hands of people I just met" the boys rolled their eyes at that. They know how Dominic gets when he's mad. And they just want to make sure that Daniel had gotten the hint before he decides to do anything too risky.
