CHAPTER 9:
OH LORD
SONG FOR CHAPTER:
MAD HATTER BY MELANIE MARTINEZ

"Glad you boys did it all by yourselves. I almost began to lose hope."

The five boys looked at him confused, and honestly a little scared; while the adults put on warm smiles from seeing such a familiar face. It's been sometime since they have been in the current room. And that's a part of their lives that they don't want to go back to. They had a horrible down fall. Or at least the current parents did. The grandmother just hasn't been as active, knowing her own only son died because of his circle. And then his wife dying soon after, leaving their son Zach in her hands. So her not visiting kind of did have to do with the current parents and their past feud.

"Lord" Daniel's father dragged out. The old man snapped his fingers, teleporting himself from one spot and so he was standing in front of the Seavey family. He gave them a smile, before taking his hand and whacking David upside his head. The father of one flinched at the contact and rubbed the pained spot after. "Nice to see you too."

"You left your circle to rot. You deserve more than just a hit upon your head" The Lord scolded. He then looked over to the wife and smiled again. "I never understood what you seen in him" he joked after and placing his hand on the side of his mouth as if he was trying to keep it a secret. The women just giggled and glanced at her ex husband.

"Me too" she responded with yet again another giggle. "We're not together anymore. Apparently he wanted to be normal, while I knew he was far from it. Especially with what Daniel has to do with this world" Miranda finished. The Lord nodded a cheeky grin on his face. David just frowned at her words. He knew she was hurt, with what he made her do. Them going their separate ways was because of him. And with all honesty he misses her deeply.

"Well how inspiring of you" the Lord grinnedband looking at the teenage boy standing in front of them, curiosity lacing his features. The old man moved so they were inches away. Daniel stepped back, not liking the close interference. "Lovely child. And definitely holds a lot of power. They all do" he finished and stepping back so he was able to see all the families. He glanced between all the teens before lifting his hand and lightly swiping it left as if he was uncovering something.

And he was.

When moving his hand, the one area of the teen boys' bodies began to glow again. There was a light sting, causing the five to again place their hands in that area. The Lord yet again swiped his hand and ordered them to walk toward him. The didn't object, but did feel seriously cautious. At first the Lord went over to Daniel and placed his darker hand on the brunette's neck. The stinging sensation was now gone and was replaced with a mark. It was a symbol.

"Power."

The Lord then moved so he was in front of Zach, and pressed his fingers behind his ear. He slid them down lightly, until he reached the end of his shoulder. There was again another mark. It was words in small cursive print. He nodded at this one with a bright smile.

"Knowledge."

The old man kept going down the line, when he reached Jack. He grabbed the teen's arm and brought his sleeve up. He slapped his hand on the curly haired boy's forearm and rubbed letting heat form. When looking you could see a match with a bright flame of fire at the end of it.
