Yesterday (8/24/17), we had our marching band pre show. It was great! We performed a drill team toon (Green Onions), That's Entertainment, and our spirit show sequence. Each section played a section feature. We played 'Kiss The Girl' from The Little Mermaid. I absolutely butchered my part of the 'W' in WIN during the spirit show, but oh well. The contest show group played the contest show as well and they did so good! It was so much fun!
We had to wear our show shirts, band athletics shorts, short socks, athletic shoes, and shakos. With the plumes. I was way too excited about that. When we took our shakos off, I tried so hard to not laugh my head off.
Then, the entire band gathered at midfield to dismiss and freshman, get fully inducted into the band. 'Living On A Prayer' came on and everybody except Jackson started screaming it at the top of their lungs. He just stood there with an 'I'm done with life' face. The freshman and seniors each got a necklace with a green bead. The sophomores got a black one and the juniors got ("We're calling it gold because it sounds cooler than yellow.") a 'gold' one.
And I stood there while thinking, 'THE CULT INDUCTION CEREMONY!'
