Hunter Hunted

“I don’t like this one bit. You have seen what those things are capable of. They show no mercy to humanity.”

                “Relax, it is ten of us against five of them. What could possibly go wrong, we have the whole place surrounded. There is no where that they could possibly go to. Besides, the pay for only one of their heads is worth the risk.”

                “It better be good. I am not risking my life for nuttin’ you know that. Humanity can get screwed over for all I care, but I better be one of those survivors that miraculously managed to live through the onslaught”

                “I will laugh when you are the first one to die Sebastian.”

                “Shut up, I bet you that they are listening to us right now.”

                They were split up into groups of two so as to increase their chances of survival. So far nothing bad had happened, but Sebastian knew that those beasts were waiting for them inside. He knew that if they were going down, they would go down with a fight. A violent and bloody fight.

                A beeping noise came from his pocket. His phone was ringing, another pair of hunters was calling him. I thought that there was going to be radio silence during the mission. Everyone halted and watched as Sebastian answered.

                “What is it, I thought there was to be radio silence.”

                “We found something that I think that you might find interesting. I am uploading some pictures now.” Sebastian hung up the phone and watched as three different pictures came up on his screen.

The pictures showed a girl laid out next to a tree. Both her arms and her left leg were torn off her torso. Her skull had been crushed and her face was entirely unrecognizable. Her chest was ripped open and there were claw marks all over the neck. Bone was protruding from her foot, and he could see what looked like brain matter strewn across the ground. It was a grizzly scene.

Sebastian felt like he was going to throw up, never had he seen such a mangled body. It was now clear to him that these were not any ordinary shifters. They were animals. Nothing about them was human. They deserved to die in the most painful way he could think of.

Sebastian sent the images to the rest of the team, and then he loaded his rifle. He has just seen  what the shifters were capable of, and he was going to make sure that it never happened again. He was going to go back home and he was going to make sure that his children and their children would never live in a world of fear.

                They all got ready and to proceed towards the cabin.

                Yuvin waited next to the doorway, he had been standing there for some time now while the rest of the pack got in their positions. No body was to speak during the fight. Yuri had overheard the hunters speaking amongst each other. Five of them would enter, three through the front and two through the back windows. The pack had positioned themselves accordingly. Three at the front and two at the back. Now they all stood there in silence as they heard the footsteps get closer and closer to the cabin.

                The noise died down and Yuvin steadied himself. They had to allow the hunters to make the first move. Yuvin nearly jumped as he heard a loud crashing sound as the first two hunters came through the back. Dimitri and T’Argho quickly went to work. Dimitri went for the first one, he grabbed on to the right foot and tore it free from the leg. The hunter fell to the ground and and screamed in pain as Dimitri got on top of him and began to tear at the mans throat. Blood splattered all over Dimitri’s face as he finished up by crushing the skull of his victim with his jaws.
