"Akivari! Akivari!" screamed Abraham at the top of his lungs as he searched fruitlessly across the base for his mate. Sniffing the air once more for a slight scent, trying to his best efforts to find her amidst the darkness of the building.
Abraham was beginning to imagine the worst. "No," he thought to himself. "Akivari is strong. She is alive, I know it."
The four wolves ran past the darkened hallways, lit only by the occasional ominous glow of the flaring, red siren lights that echoed their boisterous shrill across the base. A trail of bodies lay behind them, bith human and wolf, for they had been the ones who had refused Abraham's offer to join him.
"Fang," said Abraham as he crouched down next to him, rubbing his neck as if he were a dog. "Go with Veran, find any leads to Akivari, and tell me instantly."
Veran had been the new name that Abraham had given to John, deeming his old name to be too human for his taste.
Fang and Veran quickly dashed in the opposite direction, driven on by the words of Abraham. They were no longer human. Their actions and thoughts were controlled by the will of a single wolf.
Abraham and Aargo set off towards the last possible location that Akivari could be at. The base was even bigger than he had thought, covering six levels of sub terreainian floors. All throughout the search, Abraham's thoughts went back to Narkiv. The images of his lifeless body burned straight into his mind.
Following instinct, he rounded a corner and ended up in a training room filled with fireing dummies.
But his wolf told him that something was up in the room. His mate was close, he could smell her. Abraham turned to the golden wolf, Aargo. He pulled his head to Aargo's ear, then said in a whisper, "Go left and flank around. I will head straight through the middle. Akivari is here, and she is not alone."
Aargo immediately listened to his leader, flanking around the left discreetly, managing to make no noise as he swiftly bounded over a barrier that would have stopped a soldier from entering the shooting range.
The lights to the room suddenly flicker and die as an explosion rocked the ceiling. Turning back into his human form, Abraham began to walk out to the middle. He followed the scent of Akivari until he saw a black mass in the center of the room.
"Took you long enough," said the voice of General Rover as he cocked a gun to it's loaded position. Abraham turned back into his wolf form and walked out to see the General with a .357 Magnum aimed right at his head.
"Where is she!" said Abraham in an angered voice as he stopped himself, smelling the gunpowder that was inside the weapon.
"Who, do you mean that wolf you seem so fond of?" mocked General Rover as another explosion rocked the earth, this time shattering some of the concrete from the ceiling.
"Stop playing games! Where is she!" yelled Abraham once more as he began to pace towards the General, the hatred in his head making him forget about the gun aimed at his head.
"Now now! Let's not get too hasty," coolly stated the General as he pulled out a small radio from his left pocket. "You would not want to end up like your friend did, am I right?"
Abraham stopped himself, changing back into his human for so as to keep his rage under some control. "What have you done to her?"
"The question is, what will I do to you? The whole base has been rigged to explode. All I have to do is send a signal to the explosive," said the General as he motioned to the small radio that he held in his left hand. "And we all go to hell."
Abraham let out a low growl in anger. He was going to kill him one way or another.
"Or I can spare the base and your acquaintance but instead I kill you. Either way, you will die like the dog that you are."
