"Right then, whose ready for the walk?" Petunia stated. Suprisingly, Flippy nodded, half enthusiastic, half terrified.

Lumpy pushed open the door, all of them bidding Cuddles farewell. Everyone left, Flippy immediately freezing. Everything was strange. New sights, smells, sensations...

Flaky squeezed his hand, reminding Flippy to do it if he was stressed. They had made a little system thing. One quick squeeze of he wants to take a breather, two quick squeezes if he wants to walk slower, three if he's ok to walk faster. Holding squeeze with one hand to notify them he was scared, and holding with both hands if he wants to go back.

Flippy nodded, indicating he was ready to start walking. Petunia stood at the front, occasionally looking back to give a smile or motivation. Lumpy stood behind him, cracking jokes and pulling silly faces to distract him. Finally, Flaky was right against his side, holding his paw tightly.

They slowly began, Flippy using the hood of his hoodie to hide his face. Flaky kept whispering motivation.

After a couple of minutes, Flippy began actually looking around, enjoying the surroundings. Flaky's gaze was on him, watching his eyes, seeing as they seemed to reveal his emotion the most. They sparkled with this curiosity, fear, and exhilaration. She felt him eagerly give three quick squeezes, beaming at her.

The streets were mostly empty, probably what was making him feel safe. Safe enough to break away from the group, and take a stroll around. Everyone watched him, happy to see him enjoying himself. He was even browsing some of the market stalls. Sure, he would immediately run back to Flaky if someone spoke to him, but it never took long for him to wander off again.

Within just a few hours, they'd made it to Giggles' house, everyone pleased they'd managed to get him from point A to B. It certainly was progress. Flippy was very proud. They decided to not make him walk back, and to let him stay there for the night.

It was around midnight when Flaky woke up. Damn anxiety... She noticed a silhouette by the window. A hooded figure, sitting on the windowsill.
"F- Flippy?" She whispered, sitting up from her sleeping bag. Clearly startled, they spun around, their eyes meeting hers. A smile appeared on their face, comforting Flaky.

The porcupine shuffled out of the bag, sitting besides Flippy, who had returned to glaring out of the window.
"What are you looking at?" She asked, shuffling closer to him to get a better look.

"That big circle. It's gorgeous. We rarely got to see it. It appears rarely, and we weren't allowed outside beyond missions and training, where we constantly had to be on edge," he explained, pointing towards the moon.

"T- that's the moon..." she murmured, confused on why he didn't know. Wouldn't he have learnt it before joining the army? Heck, there are so many things he should be more comfortable doing. She couldn't bring herself to ask, worried about upsetting him again.
"It's pretty," he admired, leaning on his hands.

"I- I know this p- place where y- you can get a r- really nice view of it," Flaky stated, touched by the child-like wonder in his eyes.

"I- is it safe?" Flippy asked, unsure, Flaky nodding as response, "Ok! Let's do this!" He whisper-yelled, enthusiasm replacing any worries he had.

"Can I open by eyes yet?" Flippy asked, Flaky leading him as his eyes were covered.

"Not yet. We're nearly there!" Flaky enthused, her soft voice matching the quiet sounds of the field perfectly. They both giggled, feeling the long grass tickling their feet; Flaky having suggested walking bare (-pun-) feet.

Finally, they were there. It was a rather small cliff, usually used as a car lookout. But, their walking would have to suffice. Flaky nudged him in front of her, only a foot from the edge.
"Ok, now you can open them," Flaky explained, Flippy undoing the blindfold Flaky had tied. Immediately, his gaze trailed upwards, his jaw hanging open as he glared off into space (-quite literally-).

It was gorgeous. There weren't any words to describe how he felt. Jitter would love this. He smiled at the thought of seeing his friend again. Flaky gestured him to sit, which he did, continuing to stargaze. Flaky knelt behind him, resting her head on his, smiling at how happy such a simple thing made him.

By the time they'd decided to go back, it had been an entire hour of silence, besides the calm, hushed sounds of nocturnal nature. They both fell straight to sleep when they were back. Flippy was excited to go outside again.
