"Weeeeeeee!" The group squealed excitedly. All except Sniffles, Lumpy, and Flippy were riding it. Lumpy was spinning it (quite well, might I add), Flippy was reading on a tree branch, and Sniffles was too busy monitoring Flippy.
Flippy was buried in the book, enjoying reading; a rare thing for people to like. Occasionally he'd glance at his friends having fun, and giggle from their contagious exhilaration. However, he didn't dare join them. To him, it just felt... wrong to have fun when someone's watching you like... some sort of criminal. Then again, he knew he deserved it. His mind always trailed back to the blue anteater, who he could clearly see sitting on a bench, watching his every move. Flippy always paled when he saw him. He absolutely loathed this feeling of being watched. No, stalked. It sent shivers up his spine just thinking about those azure eyes, glaring him down, staring right into his deepest thoughts, and never leaving. Sighing, he reminded himself it was just until they got some answers. He hoped it wouldn't take too long for him to come to a conclusion, wether it was right or wrong. Though, he prefered the latter.
Tittering, the red porcupine staggered giddily (by both definitions), snow-like flakes of dandruff falling off of her long spines. She leaned against a tree to get some stability. It was the same tree Flippy was sitting in.
"Having fun?" Flippy asked, facing her, giggling at her wobbling like a toddler."Y- yeah! You s- should join in. L- Lumpy's really h- hoping you'll join in," she stumbled, her eyes meeting those golden orbs. Flippy was taken aback. Her bubblegum pink lips had curled into the widest, most excited smile he'd ever seen in his life. Her eyes glared into his, her naturally long eyelashes batting every blink. He felt his face heat up, cheeks probably matching those stunning, pink eyes.
Opening his mouth, he was about to agree, until his eyes caught a blotch of blue moving. Focusing on it, it was Sniffles writing notes of the exchange between Flippy and Flaky. He remembered... he was being watched. His own smile had dropped into a look of despair, which he kept as he turned back to the porcupine. Her smile had faded slightly, a shadow of it's former glee. Instead of her eyes twinkling with delirium, they glimmered dimly with desperation and silent pleas.
"Uh... s- sorry, Flakes... i- I don't feel like it..." Flippy stammered, heart shattering at the dissapomtment in her eyes. It grew so painful, he couldn't even face her, instead choosing to look back at Sniffles.Flaky, overcome with dejection, followed Flippy's gaze, seeing he was looking at Sniffles, who was seemingly unconcerned with the situation he'd caused.
"I- I can tell h- him to l- leave if you want," Flaky offered, Flippy still not facing her, but, at least, not glaring at Sniffles."J- just leave i- it... i- it's fine..." Flippy mumbled, voice quiet and pained.
"F- Flippy, if he's making y- you uncomfortable, i- I can sort him out..." Flaky insisted.
"Flaky... please... he's j- just doing what h- he needs to do... s- so, i- it's fine. I- I'll live," Flippy sighed, before giving her a forced smile.
"O- ok..." Flaky exhaled, knowing how stubborn Flippy could be when he felt something was right.
Gloomily, she shuffled off. She planned just to sit down, but something caught her eye. It was a rather small, yellow creature. It looked up at her, chirping. It was a chick...
-if you're confused of the relevance of a chick, see 'A to Zoo'. Good episode. One of the only episodes where Flaky's in it the whole time, and survives!-
