Phil was transferred to a new high school since his previous one was him constantly getting bullied and harassed due to him being gay and different from everyone else.
On the first day of school he seemed to make a couple of friends named Chris and Pj (also I'm so glad to see that Chris is back!) who had a lot of things in common with Phil. It was edging to lunch time and the lonely prince happened to walk by and swoon everybody however there was a reason as to why he was called the lonely prince. He may have had all the girls and a few boys swooning over him but he'd prefer to be alone and didn't lay an eye on anyone unless you were special and in that case Phil must've been.
