Phil had been intrigued in building a machine that would send him to another dimension after he had lost Dan in a tragic accident. Phil ends up creating a machine that would take to an alternate universe where he meets a new Phil and he sees Dan in another universe. The awkwardness between the unknown Dan and Phil reminded Phil of his and Dan's relationship and was deadly determined to make sure they would admit to each other how they feel about each other and revisiting a certain time for a certain somebody.
