Sorry for the late update my wifi wasn't working....
This chapter was written by Manasi, my BFF! So the credit goes entirely to her.
Avantika changed and was bought to the mandap, where she was made to sit beside Kumar Amarendra.
He looked at Avantika and smiled and leaned towards her whispering.
"You know what is going to happen tonight?"
She glanced over at him and taunted, "A good night's sleep."
"With me beside you." he teased.
"Or, maybe you will end up on the floor." she replied hiding her grin.
Kumar Amarendra straightened himself and once again paid attention to the mantra's being chanted.
Avantika looked around but could not find Kumar Rudhra anywhere.
Where is sodāru? she thought and leaned behind.
Kumar Amarendra frowned.
Now what is the matter with her? We wanted to get married and now when we are she is not interested in it.
He gently nudged her and she immediately looked at him.
He leaned over to her and asked, "Don't you think your old enough to understand that we are sitting here to commit our lives to each other and you are playing around here."
She shook her head annoyed and said, "I am not."
"Pay attention now." he snapped and looked at the flames.
"Where is Rudhra?" she asked.
"Go, and search for him." replied Kumar Amarendra in irritation.
"He isn't here." she replied. "Why are you so irritated?"
"Avantika, a lot has happened today, please don't ask me anything more."
"The bride's father, please come ahead for the kanyāyādan." said the pundit.
Rajguru Shankara took his position as father to Avantika, and stepped ahead to complete the rituals.
He placed Avantika's hand over Kumar Amarendra's and poured water over their hands.
"Now Kumar, apply kumkuma." ordered the pundit passing a small box of vermilion over to Kumar Amarendra.
He took a pinch of vermilion between this thumb and and middle finger and filled her hairline.
"Now, put the mangalsutra."
Kumar Amarendra turned and leaned forward and tied the mangalsutra around her neck.
"Have you decided a new name for me?"
His eyes met hers and he smiled nodding a little. She was looking like a goddess today, made only for him.
"You are looking very beautiful today."
She blushed hard turning her face away from him.
"Don't I look beautiful everyday?"
"No, it's not that. But today, you are looking extremely beautiful."
Falling in love has been easy, I hope we remain in love throughout our lives, both of them thought.
The gathbandhan was done by guru amma.
