The dark sky was broken by the first rays of dawn. Kumar Amarendra was still in the temple, he had prayed the whole night with tears welling in his eyes. What was his success without her? What was his overlordship without her as his queen? What was their son without his amma?

The infant cried at regular intervals until he was fed by another lactating mother.

Avantika opened her eyes and looked around. As she regained consciousness she immediately remembered what had occurred the previous night.

"MY SON!" she gasped sitting up. The sudden jeark stung her abdomen sharply like a pierced dagger.

"Rajkumari!" exclaimed the midwife. "She is alive! She is alive! Our queen is alive!" she ran outside the house announcing with joy.

Avantika placed her feet on the ground and tried to stand up in vain but fell back on her haunches.

Kumar Rudhra entered the house along with Anannya who was cradleing the infant.

Anannya rushed and hugged her akka with tears of joy. She gently slid the sleeping infant into Avantika's arms who held the infant close to her bosom. She felt her life return to her.

"Where is Amarendra?" she asked.

As soon as she took his name he entered the house with tears in his eyes. He ran and hugged her and pressed his lips against her forehead.

"MAHENDRA BAAHUBALI!"

His name bought a smile on the faces of all those present in that little cottage.

"Let's give the new parents some time together." Kumar Rudhra said and told everyone to go out.

Both of them looked at the baby which was in his hands.

"I am sorry." both of them said in one guilty vpice. They looked at each other and smiled.

"I am so sorry Mahendra, I ignored you, kept you hungry." Avantika kissed the little infant.
