Avantika opened her eyes with the first rays of the morning sun. For Gopikanata and Anannya the night had been tormenting and a relentless struggle to keep her alive.

"Are you feeling better?" Asked Anannya holding Avantika by her shoulders.

She held her head, feeling disoriented and fatigue.

"Where am I ?" She mumbled.

"This is Kudremukhalam." Replied Anannya. "You were nearly about to die last night. If not for Varuna anna and the rest of his friends who guard the village at night, you would have died."

Avantika stared at her puzzled and for a moment thought that she looks a little like Rajguru Venkata, but she shunned the feeling and asked, "Who are you?"

"My name is Anannya and akka is asleep." She smiled.

"What is your name?"

"Who am I !?" Asked Avantika.

Anannya stared at her horrified.

"Do you not remember your own name?" She asked.

"My name....?" Mumbled Avantika trying to think hard.

Anannya's memory flashed back to the time when Avantika took a name in her deep pain.

"Do you know Amarendra?" She asked, happy that she recollected the name. Though it wasn't much of a trouble because it matched with the prince of Aitareya Bhramana.

"Who is Amarendra?" She asked.

Oh no! Shiva Shambhu....she has lost her memory.... What shall I do...? Anannya was in a fix.

Avantika managed to scramble on her feet with Anannya's help. She slowly helped her out, step by step.

"Umm.... Shall I give you a name?" Suggested Anannya trying to break the ice between them.

"I would love to have a name..." She smiled at her.

"Umm... How about Shivanaya?" She asked with bright brown eyes.

"Lovely name!" Exclaimed Avantika with a surge of joy in her voice.

"Anannya akka...."

"No... No, no I'm not your akka." She replied shaking her head in dismay.

"How shall I address you?" Pouted Avantika.

"As Anannya." She shrugged. "Come, I'll take you to the Shiv temple."

They trekked up the series of stairs to reach the temple at the top of the mountain.

Avantika bowed down to the Shivlingam and Nandi who were at the center of the temple hall.
