You can imagine my surprise to find Lucas had been spamming me with these messages. Still angry from the incident with Holly, I take out my phone and start texting back, making several mistakes ad having to erase them.

Calm down! Geez....what is it? - Lucy
What do you think it is!? Mel has gone missing and I can't find her anywhere! She's not in the cookie store! She's not in the bakery! She's not in her house! She's not stalking some random guy who's selling food! Where the hell is she!? - Lucas
I'm trying to find her Lucas, I don't know myself. Alex and Holly don't know where she is - Lucy
They won't know where she is....hang on, I can smell you. I'm coming to meet you. Don't. Move. - Lucas

I take this statement a little too seriously and freeze. Don't blink. No muscles moved. I even forget to breathe for a second.

After about half a minute, Lucas appears from behind a corner. He runs up towards me, panic in his eyes. He's probably more worried than I am...
"There you are!" Lucas exclaims. I notice he's holding a box.
"What's in there?" I ask.
"Triple chocolate cookies with extra chips." He explains. "Mel's favourite. Hopefully it'll lure her out."
"Can't you smell her?" I ask.
"I've tried, but her scent is nowhere to be found." He says, his eyes somehow getting wider.
"Then let's find her." I say and start leading the way.

We head into the quieter part of the city since we couldn't find her in the busier part. Here it's almost deserted. A couple of cats and dogs run around, and the occasional person walks past us but that was all. Most of the shops had closed down. It was almost like a remnant of the past.
"Wait." Lucas says after a while. One of his ears prick up and he focuses on something. "This way!" He grabs my arm and starts running.
"What is it?" I ask as I struggle to move my legs to keep up with him. To be fair though, if I couldn't keep up, he'd probably drag me...
"I hear someone crying...sounded familiar..." Lucas says. When he says it sounds familiar my hopes rise. Could it be Mel? I hope so.

We run past an alley and hear crying from it. Lucas freezes, causing me to crash into him, and backs up. He then drags me down the alley. It's dark. But as we get further in, the cries are definitely coming from here. I gulp as I look out...even the sky seemed to be blocked out. No one is visible...Perfect place to kidnap someone....wait what? WHY AM I THINKING THAT!?

There's a woman crying on the floor. Her back against the wall. Her tail wrapped around her legs......tail!?
"Melody!?" Lucas and I exclaim. She looks up at us slightly before hiding her face again and our suspicions are confirmed. Lucas is instantly on the floor, his arms around her. I crouch down beside her and put a comforting hand on her knee.

"Don't ever disappear on me again." Lucas says to Mel. "I was worried sick about you."
"You shouldn't worry about me..." Mel says through sobs. Lucas' tail moves round and intertwines itself with Mel's. They say it's normal for werewolves to do this to comfort one another, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn't quite that.
"And why not?" Lucas asks. "Mel, you're my mate, and I love you." A stupid grin appears on my face at his adorableness. "I'm going to be scared shitless when something happens to you." He closes his eyes and places his head on Mel's.
"But I-" Melody stutters before taking a breath. "You should stay away from me, I couldn't protect everyone, I'm annoying, I'm not good enough and-"
"Where is this nonsense coming from?" Lucas asks.
"Mel...." I start, figuring I should have some input in this. "If this is about Holly....she didn't deserve you. You're allowed to rely on others as well. Don't think that because people rely on you that you can't rely on others. Don't think you're not good enough. We love you just the way you are. We don't want you to change. We love happy Mel, but I, and I know Lucas does too, don't want you hiding your problems from us. We're your friends slash mate." I pat her knee. "We care about you and don't want to see you hurt." Lucas holds the box in front of Mel where she can see it.
"Cookie?" He asks. Mel looks up and her eyes are instantly brighter. She quickly reaches forward and grabs the box. Before I can blink, three of them are already gone. Lucas smiles and kisses her head. (Me: I need a Lucas in my life....T.T) Mel fully looks up and we both gasp.

"Mel...you have a sc-" I start, pointing to the scar on her cheek. A maniacal laugh interrupts me. I look to the right and see a woman. She has white hair with red streaks tied in pigtails and light blue eyes that seemed to glow in the dark. She has werewolf features that match her hair. Her clothes are bloodstained and she's holding a bloody knife.
"You didn't let me finish my sentence..." Mel says. "Now we're all going to die."
"Don't think like that!" Lucas says as he gently, but not too gently, hits her arm. "Who are you?" We all stand up. My legs wobbly from the fear building up in my stomach. My breathing becomes ragged. For some reason, Asa, Mayonaka, and Asaka fly to mind. I gulp, hoping to swallow the memories. It's then I realise that Mel has a blood stain on her stomach. Which gets me thinking....was Mel attacked and hit? Or did Mel successfully defend herself and manage to attack this woman, getting her blood on Mel? Ack! No time for wondering about that! Stupid Lucy!

My thoughts are answered when Mel hisses in pain and puts her hand on her stomach. Lucas does the same to her stomach while glaring at the woman. Feeling safer behind two wolves, one who can control elements and another who can summon animals, I hide behind them.
"You...." the woman says between ragged breaths. She steps towards us in an inhumanly way. "Killed....." one more step and the knife is raised. "My..." another step and she cocks her head to the side. Lucas extends his claws and I replace his hand on Mel's stomach, hoping to stop the blood flowing out. "Family." She runs towards us.

Me: WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYONE COMING FROM!?
Nora: beats me.
Me: ACK!
Natsu: I'm not there to protect my Luce. *pouting*

Nora: oh yeah! Cota's still mad at you for killing him!
Me: oh well! Everyone say bye!
