Chapter eleven

Me: HELLO! And welcome back to-
Everyone: Nalu: The Playboy's Ex!
Mira: and realisation has sunk in!
Natsu: TIME FOR ME TO KICK BUTT! *starts kicking air*
Lucy: the air is butt now.
Me: let's start!

"Natsu! NATSU! NATSU'S HERE!" I start screaming, in joy and fear.
"Lucy! Shut up!" Lucas tells me sternly.
"It was him! He attacked Mayona! I know it!" I yell but quieter. "It makes sense! The burn marks! The familiar Magic sense!"
"Lucy, you need to shut up." Lucas says. "Even if it is Natsu-"
"We have to go back! We have to help him!" I exclaim.
"LUCY HEARTFILIA!" Lucas yells loudly, making me flinch. Melody groans quietly but soon stays still again. "We can't go back."
"But-!" I start.
"Going back will put us in more danger than necessary." Lucas says. "If you want to help him then we get out of here and get help from there. She managed to take the three of us on, we didn't really do anything to stop her but that's beside the point. Going back will only get us in Natsu's way, if it is him."
"Ok...." I say. "Then let's hurry." Lucas takes Melody from me and I lead. I open a metal door and we climb the stairs.

"This is the main part..." I think aloud. I hear loud crashes coming from upstairs.
"There's a barrier here...." Lucas says and walks up to the barrier. He places Mel on the floor then his hand on the barrier and I wonder how he knew it was there. "That's not good..."
"What's not good?" I ask.
"This barrier is linked to a life force." Lucas says. "Meaning we have to kill someone to get out of here." I gulp at the thought.
"Who would we have to kill?" I ask not wanting to know the answer.
"At a guess, probably Mayona." Lucas says. "But it's hard to tell."
"How do you know that?" I ask. Probably not the time or place for a question like that but I was curious.
"I have a friend who specialises in barriers, you learn a thing or two from watching her." Lucas explains. A loud yell is heard upstairs along with a pained scream. We turn our heads just in time to see someone fly off the balcony and crash onto the floor.

"NATSU!" I scream and run over to his body, all reasoning and thought leaving my brain. I think I hear Lucas calling me from behind but I'm not sure. I collapse at Natsu's side and lay my head on his bare chest. He still had trouser on, baggy jogging bottoms....it's not like I was checking if he was naked! Pervert!

Mayona jumps off of the balcony and lands between Natsu/me and Lucas/Mel.
"Looks like I finally found the mice that escaped." Mayona says. She strokes the blade of her knife and blood slowly falls out of her hand. "As much as I've enjoyed this game of cat and mouse, it's time to finish."
"Luce...." I hear Natsu groan. I turn my attention to him and grab his hand, placing the other on his cheek.
"I'm here." I say and move my body closer to his. Lucas' right eye begins to glow slightly.
"Mayona...." he growls. "You don't have to do this."
"Don't I?" Mayona asks. "If I recall, you were the ones who killed my family. I'm just avenging them...the old fashioned way."
"Only Natsu and I killed your family." Lucas says. "So take it out on us, not the girls."
"LIES!!" Mayona screams. "I know you all did it. I know you did! He told me!!" Who's 'he'?

Natsu: and author-chan is going through stuff!
Me: thanks for announcing that, baka!
Natsu: you said it in the other story!
Lucy: that's not the point Natsu...
