Chapter twenty one

Me: LET US BEGIN!!

I feel my body being dragged and dumped onto something hard. Footsteps retreat away from me and a car speeds off. A door opens behind me.
"Lucy!?" I hear Natsu exclaim. I feel his hands move around my head and untie a bandana from around it. I gaze into his worried eyes.
"Where's Michelle!? Ashley and Plue!!?" I quickly ask them. "And Levy! Oh gods! Where's Levy!?"
"Calm down." He says in a soothing voice. "Gajeel got a message from Levy a few seconds ago, he just left to go get them. Where were you, are you ok?"
"I don't know..." I reply, holding my arms.
"Let's get you inside." Natsu says and picks me up in his arms.

Upon seeing my return, everyone rejoiced. Well, almost everyone, someone was missing. I count the heads and tick a mental checklist. Where's Mel?

Then it clicks.

Melody p.o.v

"I'm pleased you finally chose to cooperate." My 'to-be-mate' says as he leads me down a corridor of his house. It was a large house, surrounded by busy streets on one side and a dark forest on the other. The walls were a creamy-white and the floors were covered with blood-red carpet. The walls were decorated with paintings and extravagant lights hung from the ceiling. I remain silent as we pass a window. "You're quieter than I remember."
"Quit with the small talk, Liam, you know why I'm doing this." I reply with a sharp tongue. No more words were exchanged and I imagine him a smug expression on his face. His tail swished from side to side and I glared at it, my own tail finally uniting with my thoughts about something. That tail doesn't belong on him.
"To protect your friend...right...." Liam says after a while.

He leads me up a spiral staircase and into a large room. It appears to be a bedroom. The consistent creamy-white walls and blood red carpet changed to light purple walls and dark purple carpet. The only thing in the room was a large bed, with purple covers but red sheets.
"I tried to make it to your liking, but I didn't have all that much time." Liam says as he gently pushes me into the room.
"It'll do." I reply coldly.
"You may as well try to like me, Melody, you're going to be seeing a lot of me." Liam says, almost in a mocking tone. When he said my name, I felt my body shiver inside, even my tail shook.
"I don't like a lot of people, but I see a lot of them." I reply and sit on the bed, looking down. Liam leaves the room and closes the door behind him.

I look up to make sure that he's gone and fall back on the bed. I hope Lucy's ok. I pull out my phone that I had successfully hidden in my bra in an attempt to text Lucas.
"No signal." I groan out loud.

I suppose you want to know what our plan is?

Our plan was that I'd meet Liam, manage to free Lucy and everyone else, go in her place, and get Lucas to come to his home and challenge him. If Lucas won the challenge then Liam wouldn't be able to come after us again since Lucas considered our friends his pack. Even if Liam wanted to, his instincts wouldn't allow it and he'd, theoretically, run away instead of coming towards us. We figured that if we could track him to his house, then he wouldn't have anywhere to run, so he couldn't back down from the challenge.

But since my phone has no signal, I can't tell Lucas where I am.

This wasn't thought through very well...

Lucy p.o.v

"Where's Melody?" I ask, struggling to hide the panic in my voice.
"She's gone to get a drink." Natsu asks.
"Now that I think about it, she's been in there for nearly half an hour." Gray says.
"You don't think she found my booze stash, do you?" Erza asks, seeming a little worried.
"Doubt it." Juvia replies. Lucas looks at his phone, how brows furrowed.
"Something wrong?" I ask him. He looks up at me.
"Hm? Oh..uh, no, nothing's wrong!" He says a little nervously.
"I'll go check in her." Erza says and leaves for the kitchen. Lucas, with fear written on his face, gets up and quickly walks away.

Gajeel p.o.v

I found the girls and Plue outside of Ashley's apartment. They hurriedly climb into my car and I begin driving them home.
"Is Lucy ok!?" Levy asks me.
"I don't know." I reply.
"He said...he said..." Ashley repeats over and over again. She's visibly shaking and Michelle is holding tightly onto her arm. Even Plue, who's always so happy and cheerful, seems scared.
"What happened?" I ask.
"He...he found us." Levy replies. "He took us all. Later, he dragged Lucy away with him and someone released us. Well, they knocked us out and dropped us off there."
"He said....he said...." Ashley's voice can be heard once more.
"What's she on about?" I ask.
"He said...he said he was going to kill Lucy!" Levy replies loudly as tears fall from her eyes.

Lucy p.o.v

"HE KNOWS SOMETHING!!" Erza screams as she chases after Lucas.
"If you stop chasing me I'll tell you!" Lucas yells as he runs upstairs.
"DIEEEEE!" Erza screams.
"This won't sound weird to a passer by...." I say under my breath.

Eventually Erza calms down and Lucas explains what's going on.
"So why hasn't she texted you?" Jellal asks.
"I don't know." Lucas replies.
"She took my place..." I say and close my eyes, feeling guilty. To think that a few days ago we were all going out to the city, and everything was ok.
"You ok, Lucy, you're looking pale." Erza says.
"Yeah...I just need some time alone, if you'll excuse me." I say and head upstairs.

I make my way to Erza's room and sit down on her, hugging my knees. I allow my tears to fall. Tears of fear and anger. Why can't everything just go back to the way it was?

Soon someone sits down on the bed beside me and wraps me in their arms.
"It'll be ok, Luce." I hear Natsu's voice say.
"I'm scared Natsu." I say, hiding my face from him. He tilts my chin up to look at his face. I can't help but feel drawn to his eyes.
"I won't let that bastard hurt you again." He says.
"I know." I say while forcing a smile. He moves his head towards mine and we share a kiss.

Mira: HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! (<-- slightly evil laugh*
Me: that's not scary at all...
Natsu: *smirking at Lucy*
Lucy: O///O D-DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT!
Natsu: you know you like it

Mira: EEEEEEE!
Me: SHE DIDN'T DENY IT! *clears throat* anyway, everyone say bye!
