"how are you so good at counting money ?" my friend Adrienne asked as we sat at the lunch table. I shrugged playing with my food. Sonseeray made me fried plantains with brown rice and curry chicken. "Ray's always working with me when it comes to school I guess I just remembered" I said as I put some rice in my mouth. "speaking of ray did you ask her if  you can sleepover my house?" she asked with pleading eyes. I sighed putting more food in my mouth " I told you she not gon let me." i said finishing up my food. For some reason school is just not making me happy, I hate it here and I want to go home. On cue like usual  Donovan walked over to us with that devilish smirk. I stared him in the eyes showing no fear like sonseeray said to do. "where's my lunch pussy ?" he said as he balled up his fist. I instantly look down in fear "you better go find yourself some cause you not eating mine no more" I stressed looking up. Donovan was about my height which was pretty tall but I have to be like Ray and show no fear.

He pushed me knocking me to the floor. Adrienne came to my side helping me up "are you okay?" she asked. "I swear I'm sick of him" I said helping myself up ignoring her. I marched up to him and his friends tapping him on his shoulder. "What do you want punk" he spat in my face causing his friends to laugh. I rolled up the sleeve of my sweater before bringing my fist back and connecting it to his eye with all my strength. "Don't you ever put your hands on me or my friends" I spat as he held his eye in pain.

I walked out of the cafeteria and went to class finishing my work. "Can Jarius World- Morgan lease report to the main office" the loud speaker spoke. I sighed grabbing the hall pass and going to the office. Once I got there I saw Donavon siting there with an ice pack on his eyes and his mother sitting next to him. On the far side Sonseeray sat in the chair staring at me with an unreadable look. I took a seat in the chair next to her slouching in the process.

"Jarius why did you hit Donavon?" The principal asked folding her hands together. "He's been bullying me for the longest I wanted his to stop so I asked nicely until he pushed me and my friend on the floor. So I swung twice and hit him in the eye" I said bluntly. "Is this true Donavan ?" She asked him. He shrugged looking away "yeh". Sonseeray sucked her teeth "miss you moving too slow and I got stuff to do can you just tell me how long she is suspended so we can all go on with our life" she said with sass.

"Fine Miss. Smith, she will be suspended for 3 weeks. Please come by weekly to pick up and drop by her work." Sonseeray nodded as she got up and walked out with me right on her tail. After going to my classes to get my work we walked out to the car. "I'm sorry" I said looking out the way window. "Don't be, you told that boy was bullying you and you stood up for yourself when he put his hands on. Why would I be mad I'm not raising a pussy " she said calmly, causing me to smile, she basically said she proud of me which is all I want.

"Ya hungry?" She asked glancing at me for a second. I finally realized why she was all sassy and bitter. She just woke up, she was in her navy blue Ralph Lauren pajamas pants, with her black Nike hoodie and black uggs. "You gon answer or..." she question as she pulled up to the Chinese food restaurant down the block from our house. "Oh yeh didn't get to eat" I answer unbuckling my seatbelt and getting out.

"Hi, can I get a pork fried rice with shrimp broccoli, lo mein and 6 piece wings with a shrimp egg roll and wonton soup. What do you want J?" She asked causing me to drop my jaw. With all the food she ordered I thought she got me something. "Get I get fried rice and chicken broccoli " I said politely. The lady nodded telling us the price. Ray handed her 50, once she got the change she handed me 20 dollars. "Go to the corner store and get me a honey bun with a Twix, snickers and payday with a 2 liter soda. Whatever change is left get yourself something" she said shooing me off.
