I've always wondered if love can last forever,
And today, I finally decided that it can.
Our eyes met as I passed you by,
But they're the same eyes I used to love.
You're the same boy I used to be in love with,
But even though I'm not in love with you,
You inspired me so damn much,
And I still love you.

When we pass each other momentarily,
I regress to months and months ago.
It's so odd to explain how a broken heart
Can ache even after it's been healed,
But sometimes, things hurt worse than I expected.

I believe that love never dies,
But my loving has long since ended.
Despite the differences between us two
I still love you, and everything that we shared.
I miss your mom and your dad,
I hope they think of me, too,
I miss the feeling of safety,
And the comfort of your arms.

I'm not in love with you,
But I wish you all the best.
Because even though I want to think
That you don't deserve it,
You deserve a life that teaches you
How to live your best.

You were beautiful to me,
And some things never change.
And if you're beautiful to her now,
I'll still love you nonetheless.

I guess the times are changing, though,
And people seem to change,
too.
