- We lived in a tiny city with happy families and safe minds. It was so much easier there than it ever was here. You never felt tiny, and I never knew what blood looked like. We were brave against the world, and we never cowered in the face of danger.

- We were the only two fish in the sea. Everything belonged to us and we were never forced to learn how to coexist with anything other than ourselves. We were raised to be independent, and we lived free of the worries of everybody around us.

- I had a mom to teach me how to love, and you had a dad to teach you how to live. They were there for us and we never knew what sadness tasted like. The concept of burning lungs at two in the morning and constricting chests from crying and screaming and then crying again was unfamiliar. We were loved, and we weren't alone.

- We were not the only two alike. Instead, the whole universe shared a mind and nobody ever went to war, as we all believed in the same things. You and I weren't different and everybody else wasn't normal, either. We never knew what disagreement led to.

- I woke up every morning tangled up in you. Your scent never left my skin and your hands never left mine, and we were always within reach. We never had the worry of loneliness or growing apart. Instead, our life was grown upon us, and we were the foundation of our own love.

- I felt too much, and you felt a little less. It was a feather light balance that we managed to achieve, rather than a wildly disproportionate ratio of emotions to person. I knew what happiness was like, and you knew the bliss of simplicity. Nothing was ever a riddle, and I was never forced to grow up too quickly. In another universe, we never missed out on our childhoods.
