I believe there are oceans so vast that people can only feel terror in regards to the unknown. It's safe to feel fear caused by something you don't understand. It's human. It's natural. There are ones who explore the unknown, and venture beyond the safe boundaries of creation and knowledge. There are many things that we cannot, and will not, be able to comprehend. One of these things is love. It isn't man-made, nor is it a single emotion in one.
The most common correlation to love is fear. Raw, unfiltered fear. As humans, we are hardwired to try to stay alive. The terrifying thing about love is the fact that it overthrows the natural instinct to not let yourself be vulnerable against pain. We, as humans, are self-preservatory.
We, as lovers, are right in the face of danger. On a level, love is trusting another soul enough to allow them to slip past your instinctual borders and permeate the softest and weakest parts of our brain. These are the structures that we try to shield, the ones that run our lives.
It is sensible to feel terror in the face of love. It is human. It is beautiful to see your hands shake and it is beautiful to find your dreams haunted by the lingering sense of another.
Love is subjective. You can refuse it, or you can charge right into the eye of the storm. Love can be compared to a hurricane. There is the core, the center of all destruction. It is the place where the air is calm. The core is the pounding of hearts and midnight kisses; the moments that define what you classify as love. Everything around you is chaos.
That's how it shall always be; chaos. It is pure madness, the love swirling with hatred and fear and soft skin. It is unsure, and it alarms the mind. It is impending danger — danger that, however, does not even exist.
For fear is just a figment of an unsure mind, and love is a result of a fearless one.
