Song: Runnin' Home To You - Grant Gustin, The Flash
A few minutes later, with hands held, Artemis found herself and Wally in an open room, with a five tiered wedding cake, courtesy of one of Dick's family members, Alfred. As the blonde entered the room, she saw tables surrounding the entire area, and a stage set up, with bright lights of green, yellow, and red centered on the middle. She stepped in deeper, and said, "Walls, this looks amazing, but I thought we were going to go simple." The ginger turned, and replied softly, "Artie, Alfred wouldn't let me out of the house, until I made it clear to him, that he got to make the cake. Besides, all this, was just a part of the secret gift I have for my beautiful, stunning, new bride." The blonde stuttered, "But, I didn't get you anything." Wally grinned, and said, "You didn't need to." As the guests started to pile into the room, Artemis found herself surrounded by Wally's closest family members. Feeling a hand on her shoulder, the blonde turned, and found a shorter, elderly woman with a walker smiling at her, through her blue eyes. She said, "Artemis, is it? I just want you to know that I love Wallace with everything. You do the same, dear. He needs plenty of love, because he's comin' from a family of love." Quite startled by the woman, Artemis uttered, "Uh...okay?" Wally, seeing the situation growing, stepped over to the two, and said questionably, putting his hand on the shorter, yet older woman's hand, " Great Aunt Lori, what a pleasure to see you here...at my wedding...not home resting like the doctors told you to do." Great Aunt Lori replied, "Wallace, you know I hate being and resting at home, and you know I hate doctors, especially because they were the ones that had me so freaking worried about you, when you got hit by that lightning. Those doctors always lie about the situation and take it to the extreme, for heaven's sakes! That kind of thing, getting hit by lightning, can kill you, you know? Besides, you seriously didn't think for a second, that I was going to miss my great nephew's wedding, did you?" Artemis listened, as Wally answered, "Of course not, but you should really be home. Great Aunt Lori, that was a once in a lifetime thing. And the doctors saved me from that bolt. Please try to relax and forget about that. I was ten." Great Aunt Lori said, "Exactly Wallace! You were ten, and you were too young to understand. I have to be worried for you, because that's who I am. Everything about hospitals makes me nervous, because that's where I was, when you were practically electrocuted! I was also there, when you were born weaker than normal, and had to fight. I-I'm just scared for you, Wallace. This is a huge journey change. Are you sure you're ready? Are you sure you've thought this through? And just who is this girl? What do you know about her?" The ginger replied, "Great Aunt Lori, I'm ready. You know that very well. Now, where's Great Uncle Matt? Maybe you should talk to him." The older woman smiled, then slowly walked away, as Artemis turned and said, "So that's your other older aunt. She's kinda...how do I say this nicely?" Wally answered, "Odd? Yeah, I tried to warn you about my other older aunt. She still thinks I need protection." Artemis questioned, "Protection? From what?" Wally sighed, and said, "I really don't know." Dick came over, and whispered something into Wally's ear, while Artemis stood silently waiting. When the dark haired teen finished, he gave a simple nod, and walked away. Wally said, "I'll be right back. There's something I need to take care of real quick." Artemis watched her husband walk up to the stage, and pick up a mike from one of the stands. He said, "Excuse me, may I have everyone's attention, please? Thank you. Let me just be the first to say from my wife and I both, thank you all for coming out to see this wedding. It's such an amazing thing to see what years of friendships have become, as we've all aged. As you all know, I had always struggled with finding the perfect person, as a teen. Now, I see my lovely wife standing in front of me, and I'm just so filled with peace and happiness, that definitely couldn't be found anywhere else. In honor of my wife, I have a special wedding gift I came up with, for her directly, to show her just how much she means to me. Artemis, could you please make your way up here beside me, and Dick, could you hit the lights and the keyboard?" Confused, the blonde made her way to the stage, and took Wally's hand, as he lifted her to the top. The ginger nodded to Dick, who dimmed the lights, and focused a small yellow spotlight on them, and Artemis was completely taken by surprise, when Wally took her hands in his, and began to sing softly and melodiously to her, "Can't say how the days will unfold. Can't change what the future may hold, but I want you in it, every hour, every minute. This world can race by far too fast. Hard to see when it's all flying past. But it's clear now, when you're standing here now. I am meant to be wherever you are next to me..." Tears coming to the blonde's eyes, Artemis looked intently at the beaming, emerald green eyes she had fallen for, then closed her eyes, and kept listening, as Wally continued, "All I want to do, is come runnin' home to you. Come runnin' home to you. And all my life I promise to, keep runnin' home to you. Keep runnin' home to you. Keep runnin' home, to you. And I could see it, right from the start. Right from the start. That you would be, Be my light in the dark. Light in the dark! Oh, you gave me no other choice, but to love you..." When the song ended, Artemis reopened her eyes, and whispered in her beloved's ear, during a hug, "That was all for me? Wally, It- it's so sweet of you, to do that. Singing in front of people, for me, I mean. I love you. Thank you." The ginger smiled, then gave Artemis a long kiss, before saying, "You deserve it, babe. You're welcome." Suddenly, Dick ran up to the stage, and said, "Walls, can I talk to you?" Hopping off the stage, then giving Artemis a hand down, Wally turned, and replied, "Yeah, sure. What is it about?" Standing a few feet away from her husband, Artemis listened, and heard the conversation between the two men. Dick said, "There's a small problem with the cake. I think Bart got to it. Sorry." Wally replied, "It's fine, dude. The cake's not the part I'm worried about. Maybe when I was younger, yes that would have scared me, but not anymore. The cake isn't even symbolic. It's just a thing. What really matters, is that I've got my beautiful wife, you as my best guy friend, and all of the people that have impacted Artemis' and my life. Besides, Bart probably couldn't stand the wait. It's kinda genetics for the younger speedsters to hate waiting for anything." Dick replied, "Yeah. Hey, remember when it was Thanksgiving, and you snuck that cranberry from the bowl M'gann set out, ever after she said to wait?" Wally laughed, "Yep, just a fond memory of the good old days!" Artemis snickered to herself, remembering the memory as it came. It was all so vivid, and she loved to picture those days, when they were all just kids, doing undercover missions for the League. Seeing that everyone was having a good time, Artemis retreated to the back patio of the church, and took a seat on the bench, looking at the sunset in front of her, everything so perfect.
