W/N: So with my busy schedule, I haven't found much time to update. However, since these next two chapters are pre-written, I will publish them, so you won't be left hanging in the story plot... Also, thank you all so much for reading and voting on these books! It makes me so happy that people like the idea of a Reverse Rebirth for Young Justice! (May it always be one of the best animated superhero TV shows in the universe, as it is to give 'justice' to, for my return to superhero fandoms, that I lost years ago, but gained recently!) Okay, I'm going to stop rambling, so you can read on... Enjoy!
With the mission lasting through the night, then well into the morning hours, and dealing with everything that had been going on after the fact, Artemis was desperate for a little time to do what she did best: kick the bad guys' butts...hard. After waking up beside Wally's calm, sleeping body, his torso shirtless and his incredibly hot six pack fully visible, the blonde didn't really want to leave his side, but she knew if she didn't kick some idiot's butt, she'd lose her touch or her temper. Slowly crawling out of the bed, she made her way to the door, and opened it, the LED lights on in the hallway. Heading to the front room of the Watchtower, the blonde yawned, barely able to speak. Why was she so dang tired? She hadn't done much, except for the mission, and the beautiful thing called sex with her husband, but that was all fun, not exhausting. Entering the Watchtower's front room, Artemis heard M'gann's cheerful "Hello!", but merely waved to pass it on. After she passed M'gann, the blonde headed into the public girls' bathroom, and stood in front of the mirror, splashing water on her face to wake herself up. That helped, and soon, she found herself staring her image in the glass. Staring into the glass reminded her of becoming Tigress for the undercover mission, and how everything went so wrong, so fast. She said, "Ugh... I really need to kick some guys' butt, or else." Hearing the bathroom door open, Artemis watched as Speedy's alias walked in, dressed in a pair of skintight jeans and a red tank top to match. Her dark hair was pulled into a ponytail, and although short, it reminded Artemis a lot of herself, and the days when she didn't always have to maintain a leadership role. When Speedy saw Artemis, she growled, rolling her eyes in disgust, "You're always around, aren't you? Ollie was such an idiot, for picking someone of unqualified background, to be my mentor." Artemis answered, trying to be polite, even though she could tell her protégée was displeased, "I have to be around, Speedy. Green Arrow picked me to be your mentor, because he felt I could get you to understand how things work. You may not know this, but when I was your age, I was just like you." The younger archer snorted, "Hff...you understand? How can anyone with a record of being a hero, end up understanding what I'm going through? You know nothing about me. You don't know my name, or what I've done. You don't even understand what it's like, coming from a family where people lie to you, and your father is a deranged villain of unspeakable ties with the Light." Artemis admitted, though with an ugly feeling in her gut, "Actually, Speedy, I do. You see, my father is Sportsmaster, and the rest of my family, either were or are assassins. I understand bad blood like nobody's business, but I used my family's bad records, and made my name something more, than my father named me to be. I became a hero, thanks to Green Arrow's help. He found me and taught me how and what it means to put your life at risk for someone you don't even know. If he hadn't found me, I wouldn't have ever met my husband. Everything is centered around the title of becoming a hero. It's always a choice, but it's a choice I'll never regret." "So you just made up this whole spiel, just to get me to listen you?! Sounds like a load of stupid talk, with no truth. Ollie doesn't do things like that." Artemis responded, "Why do you keep calling Green Arrow, Ollie? I mean, I know that's his name, but he's a member of the League." Speedy mumbled, "Because he's my stupid, older, overprotective brother." Artemis stared at Speedy, completely stunned by the girls' response. She stuttered, "Green Arrow's your brother?!" Speedy frowned, then replied, "Yeah, but don't get any dumb ideas, alright? It's not because of his place that got me here. I earned my way, unlike you obviously did." Knowing that she wasn't really getting anywhere with Speedy, Artemis came up with a full proof plan to get the girl to talk more, than she was. She suggested, "Well, I was about to head to Star City to do some patrol. If you would like, you can come as well. The villains are always more worried, when there are more arrows pointed at their chests. It would be a good way to get your feet wet, and to let me see just how good you are, and where we need to work on more. Although, you might be able to skip it, if you feel like you aren't up for it." Speedy looked up at Artemis, and smirked. She replied, questioning, "Me? Miss an opportunity to kick some dude's butt? Uh, no way in all the world would I miss an opportunity to actually do something like this, without Ollie getting on my case." Artemis pointed to the door, smiling on the inside, and said, "Then get dressed in your suit, and meet me outside the north wing Zeta-tube. We'll go together, because frankly, I feel the same way. I need to let loose a little, before the others end up dealing with the consequences of no action." Speedy grinned a sly smirk, then dashed from the bathroom, her dark ponytail flying behind her, leaving Artemis alone in the bathroom, and grateful she finally had a way to connect to the quieter, spite filled, hard shelled girl. Looking into the mirror, and seeing herself again, the blonde left quickly, and headed back to her dorm. Along the way, she saw Nightwing teaching the younger teens, those who weren't on bed rest, some of the things Artemis remembered learning as a team member from Black Canary. The person who was their mentor, wasn't around as much, but she still took time to council those who were once affected by Wally's disappearance, then return. Finally arriving at her dorm, where Artemis knew Wally still was, the blonde opened the door, and flipped on the light, being sure to be quiet so she wouldn't wake her husband.
