It was a tragedy, but a beautiful one.

WAR...
Thursday afternoon sitting with homework. What else could you do onthe day before the day before the weekend? Lol that sounds complicated.
I sat at my desk in my bedroom doing my algebra homework while watching Netflix. Pretty Little Liars is now my reason to wake up every morning lol. I love it so much.
Netflix is my life. Like literally. I wake up, Netflix. Eat, Netflix. School, Netflix on phone. After lacrosse, Netflix. Sleep, Netflix. It goes on like this everyday.
As episode 10 of season 7 finished, I got ready to click on the next episode until I heard my mom yelling.
"TAMLYN LAUREL DIXON" I roll my eyes at my full name. "GET OVER HER RIGHT NOW!" , she yells from the living room.
I get up from my comfy desk chair and slouch towards the room. As I enter the room, I see my mom standing there with her arms folded, eyes squinted in anger and witha piece of paper in her hands.
My Biology test.
Oh Lord.
"Care to explain this?" she says walking over to me and shoving the test in my face. "Mom, bio sucks. It's not my thing. So get used to more grades like this." I said pushing the paper back to her.
"57% Tammy!" , she let's her arms fall next to her side in frustration.
"Just a few more months then I can choose my subjects for sophomore year, Mom."
"It doesn't mean you have to stop studying for it!"
"Mom. Calm down." I said walking closer to her and grabbed her arms not too harshly.
"I can't! I don't want you to fail anymore!" she said and then plopped on the couch with her hands in her head in frustration.
"Mom, don't worry. I will study harder. I'm sorry, I'm just sick of this shit. I don't really care about it anymore." I said sitting next to her placing my hand on her back.
"I understand that it's a crappy subject, but just try to keep your grades up."
"I will, Mama" I hugged her and she hugged me back making a sigh escape her mouth.
I really loved my mom. Since I am the only girl in the family, me and my mother are like best friends. Sure we fight a lot, but what best friends don't?
We sat like that for a minute then she jumped up.
"Lacrosse! You have lacrosse!"
"Mom, we only start at 17:00, stop stressing" I chuckled.
"Okay. Sorry." she chuckled. "But you still need to go get dressed, so that we can leave in 15 minutes."
I nodded my head and jogged over to my bedroom. I took out my white practice shirt with the word 'West Morris' and a number 20 on, and at the back it has my last name 'Dixon' and again the number 20 on it, all in light blue writing, and my blue practice shorts out.
I quickly threw it on before putting my white socks and lacrosse cleats on.

I grabbed my white and navy lacrosse stick with my lacrosse backpack and headed out the door while fixing my hair into a high ponytail.
My mom was already sitting in the car when I got outside. I put my bag and stick in the back and hopped into the front. You could tell this was my first ever practice in high school.
"You really do look excited, honey." my mom said backing up the car into the road.
"I am! I still can't believe I made the team! Aghhhh!" I said all excited.
She chuckled and we drove to school. The car ride was normal: Singing and jamming to our favorite songs while people gave us weird looks from their cars. It's as if we didn't even argue earlier. I love her so much.
We pulled up to the school a few minutes later, and I just sat there staring at the field.
"Honey? Move your ass you've been waiting for this practice for months!" my mom said playfully hitting my arm.
I pretended to be hurt badly but began o laugh soon after.
"I guess it just doesn't feel real. Like to actually be wearing this uniform and to just be here. The reason I came to this school was for lacrosse, Mom. It feels so surreal"
"You worked so hard for this, honey. You deserve all of it. Now go. Show them what you got"
I gave her a hug and then jumped out of the car and quickly grabbed my things. I jogged until I was inside the gates and waved back to my mom as she drove away.
I took a deep breath.
"Let's do this." I whispered to myself after fixing my hairband.
I walked towards the field's bleachers to place my bag down and took out my phone to check the time.
15 minutes
I sat down next to my bag at the end of the bleachers at the very bottom and inspected my slightly worn out lacrosse stick.
in the corner I could see someone approach me, but decided to ignore it.
"I like your stick." a deep voice said in front of me.
I looked up into a pair of beautiful hazel eyes, just like mine, and he had this cute shy smile.
"Thanks" I said smiling back at him. "You play lacrosse?"
"Yeah, but we don't have practice today. Our team is here to cheer the girls at their first practice of the season." he placed his hand on his neck sheepishly.
"That's a nice gesture" I laugh.
"Tradition." he chuckled. "I'm Grayson by the way" he smiled shyly.
"Tammy." a big smile appeared on my face as I reached my hand out to him "nice to meet you."
He shakes my hand and laughs "It really is a pleasure"
"Please, sit down." I said putting my bag down on the ground and patting on the now open space next to me.
He chuckled lightly and then sat next to me.
"So how long have you been playing?" he said putting his bag next to mine.
"Since I started middle school. You?"
"About the same" he smiled.
Just when I wanted to ask more about this cute boy, the coach walked onto the field and started calling the girls to start practice.
"Well that's my que. Are you staying the whole practice?" I said getting up and grabbing my stick.
"Yeah. I'll look after your bag while you're practicing." he said putting my bag next to him.
"Now I feel bad. You're gonna be lonely" I chuckle.
"My brother is coming like right now" he chuckled "he just went to tape a broken piece on his stick."
"Oh okay good." I said backing up slowly. "See you." I smiled shyly before jogging to the coach.
"Oh I'll be seeing you alright. Like right now!" he shouted after me.
I shook my head and smiled to myself.
I just met this boy and I already know he is going to be one of the good parts in my life...
