"I dated this guy a few months ago. Right before I met you." I turned back to him. "I used to believe he is the only thing that could make me happy and feel loved. But it took me too long to find out that he's not, and then I was the one who got burned in the end."
"What happened with him?" I looked up into his eyes, which was full of concern. His hand had moved from my shoulder to my leg without me noticing until now.
"One night we were supposed to go on a date, but he cancelled last minute saying he suddenly didn't feel too good. So I decided to ask my Mom to drop me off at his house so I could surprise him. I thought maybe we could have a lazy movie date. You know, just chilling with a movie and some popcorn. I didn't want him to think just because he is sick he's going to miss out on our date. My Mom dropped me off at his place and I knocked on the door. No one was answering and the door was unlocked, so I decided to let myself in, to make the surprise slightly better. I could hear him talking and laughing in his room. So I walked upstairs towards his room. As I reached the door and was just about to turn the doorknob, I heard another voice in the room. Chuck." I sighed. Grayson was still looking at me, listening carefully to every single word I'm saying.
"Chuck asked him why he's not on our date. I could hear he made the word 'date' in quotations. I was super confused. They both laughed and then he replied telling Chuck that he told me that he was sick and that I'm gullible. Then Chuck started talking about a dare that he made with him about me. Chuck owed him $20 because I fell in love with him. It felt like my heart was being stabbed one billion times, with the sharpest knife in the world. I opened the door and just stared at him. He looked surprised, and so did Chuck but then both started laughing. I was crying my eyes out and they were just laughing. He replied with, 'Sorry, babe, but no one really wants to date you.' I ran out of that house as fast as I could. Still crying. I cried for weeks after that. The night that I finally stopped crying, was the day I met you and Ethan. You kind of saved me. Thank you."
Grayson immediately hugged me. Tightly. We sat there for a few seconds before realizing everything I had just said. He jumped up and placed both his hands behind his head in frustration.
"Who was it, Tammy? Who did this to you?" He said angrily, demanding an answer.
"Zeke..." I said lowering my head.
Grayson swore under his breath and grabbed his phone out of his pocket.
"Grayson what are you doing?" I said standing up.
"No one can treat anyone like that! Especially you, Tammy!" He shouted while going through his contacts.
"Grayson! It's in the past! Just leave it alone!" I said trying to grab his phone but he pulled it away.
"Just leave it?! No, Tammy! This asshole deserves a piece of my mind!" He held the phone against his ear.
"Grayson you are already getting bullied enough by him and Chuck! Don't make it worse!" I begged him.
"This is NOT about me! This is about you!" He walked over to the backdoor and unlocked it, still holding the phone against his ear.
He's going to make everything worse for himself. Just so that he could stand up for me?
Ethan and Sydney came running out of my room with confused expressions.
"What the hell is going on?" Ethan said.
"I told Grayson the story about Zeke. He's going to make Chuck and him make fun of him even more if he doesn't hang up right now!" I said and ran outside.
Grayson was standing by my pool, in the dark shouting into the phone.
"GRAYSON! Please stop!" I shouted, running towards him.
