Astrid's P.O.V.

Finally! It's lunch! I walk to the commons and get in line with a bunch of stiff people. After I get my food, I take an empty table in a back corner, near the gym doors. I push my trey away and take out my binder, trying to think of what should happen next. The murmuring and chatter that once filled the commons came to an abrupt halt and I looked up to see Hiccup walking into the commons, followed by the twins, from earlier, and the black haired boy along with a wide blonde haired guy. Hiccup smiles at the crowd and the girls squeal dreamily while I roll my eyes. Hiccup bro-hugs someone as the guys just cheer. What makes him so special?! I go back to tapping my pen on the paper in frustration. Suddenly, a trey is plopped down next to me. I look up to see a smirking Hiccup.

"This seat taken?" he asks as his friends put their treys down around the table. "And those?" he adds, pointing at his friends.

"Yes, they are," I say.

"By who?" he asks.

"Every punch that's ever been thrown and will be thrown," I say as I brush my bangs behind my ear, tilting my head down to read what I have so far.

I hear him chuckle, "It's a shame that she only has punches for company, right guys?" They murmur agreement. "Think they'd be willing to move?" he whispers as he leans closer to my ear.

"No, they won't," I say, flipping the page back. Suddenly, Hiccup swipes my binder in front of me and across the table, into the hands of the black haired boy. I spring forward and tackle the kid to the ground, mentally screaming as he throws it to the male twin. I use the black head's hand to punch him in the jaw before attacking the twin. I rip the binder from his hands and whack him in the head so hard, with it, that he spins around before face-planting.

"No touchie me binder," I say as I tuck my binder under my arm and grab my trey. I start to walk away but Hiccup slides my binder away and holds it high above my head. I put my trey down and jump for it, only to have him jump with me to keep it out of reach. I knew this would happen! "Look, if I sat at your table, I'm sorry! Actually, I'm sorry for just sitting at a table at all! I should've just gone to the gym," I say, muttering the last part, and Hiccup furrows his eye brows in confusion. While he's distracted, I make one last attempt to get my story but he swings it behind his back. I glare at him as he looks at me.

"Sit with us and you get your binder back," he says as I wonder why my body isn't listening to my orders to attack him. I slouch a little as I realize it's the only way to keep it unread.

"Fine," I growl and he smiles before sitting down, putting my binder under his trey for safe keeping. I cross my arms and look away in annoyance until he grabs my arm and pulls me into the seat next to him. My hand starts twitching and I stuff it in my pocket, trying my best to act normal as I put my elbow on the table and rest my chin on my palm.

"So, Astrid, this is Snotlout," Hiccup says, pointing at the black haired boy, "Fishlegs," he points at the wide dude, "Ruffnut," he gesture to the female twin, "And her brother Tuffnut," he finishes, gesturing to the male twin. I wave my hand silently.

"You live down the street from us don't you?" Ruffnut asks and I nod.

"Where'd you live before here?" Tuffnut asks.

"Outcast City," I say and Snotlout moves closer to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

"Ooh, city girl. I'm game," he says flirtatiously and I grab his hand, batting my eyes at him before ripping his arm away from me and using his fist to punch him again. The twins laugh as Hiccup chuckles and Fishlegs just stares at me in fear.

"Personal space, brah," I say as I roughly release his arm, causing him to fall out of his chair in a daze. I cross my arms and lean them on the table and stare at my binder under Hiccup's trey.

"Aren't you gonna eat anything?" Hiccup asks as he sees me just poking at my food. I just glance at him before silently daydreaming the next chapter. I feel a tap on my shoulder and look to my left to see Tuffnut staring at me with wide eyes.

"Do you have some kind of eating disorder?" he asks and Hiccup reaches behind me to smack him upside the head.

"Tuff!" he scolds as the twin rubs his head.

"Oh, I am hurt! I am very much hurt!" He yells, rolling on the floor and catching the attention of the whole commons area. Suddenly, he pops back up at my side, seeming fine. "So, do you?" he asks and I roll my eyes.

"No, I don't," I tell him in an irritated tone and he looks at his sister with a smirk which she returns.

"Guys," Hiccup says, warningly, as Ruffnut puts some food on her fork and hands it to her brother. I slide backwards as Tuff lunges for me, trying to shove the fork into my mouth. I knee him in the stomach before swiftly standing up and kicking him to the floor. I twist his arm behind his back and grab the fork from him, shoving it into his mouth before pulling it back out and having him spit the food out.

"UNCLE! Uncle, uncle, uncle!" he shouts and I release him harshly before sitting back down.

"The deal was, I sit with you guys, I get my binder back. There was nothing about eating," I say and the bell rings. I look at Hiccup and he looks at me in disappointment before handing me my story. "Go ahead and be disappointed. You can't influence me to act better," I say as I walk away.

Hiccup's P.O.V.

Astrid seemed to walk away in slow motion, as if my mind wanted me to call out to her to come back. She was actually walking rather quickly. I glare at the nuts and Snotlout. "Why'd you guys have to creep her out like that?!" I ask, trying not to yell.

"I was trying to make her feel welcome!" Snotlout shouts and I face palm.

"You were hitting on her! That's not exactly my idea of a good welcome!" I scold and walk away.

I walk up to her at her locker, hearing her mutter, "Just three more hours," over and over again as she hit her head on the door. I chuckle softly and she whips her head around to look at me.

"Oh, forgot your locker was next to mine," she says as she turns back around and grabs her books. She pauses as I open my locker and puts her head on the door, rubbing it up and down. "Ooh, the locker feels so nice," she murmurs.

"You hot?" I ask, my blood boiling as I realize how that sounded.

"Yeah, aren't you?" she asks, causing me to blush. I tell myself that it's the temperature type of 'hot' so that I can continue talking with her.

"No, I'm actually kinda cold," I tell her and glance her way to see beads of sweat forming on her forehead. She shakes her head violently before closing her locker and walking to class, pausing at the corner and turning back to face me as she realizes she doesn't know where to go. I hurry up and get my stuff before nodding in the opposite direction of where she was going and wait for her to reach my side. We then head to class and I sit next to her in a back corner. I set my stuff on the desk and feel her forehead: Cold. I hum in thought as I take my seat, wondering why she didn't snap at me.

I slip her a note as the teacher walks to the front of the room, 'Are you feeling okay?' She reads it before writing something and handing it back.

'Besides being heated up like a pot of ramen noodles, yeah,' it reads and I write back.

'Meet me after school.' She nods in defeat before ripping the evidence and throwing it away on her way to sharpen her pencil.
