No one's P.O.V.
Another school day like yesterday. Astrid rode her motorcycle to school and sat next to Hiccup in class, Hiccup played with her hair, and she was forced to sit with him and his friends at lunch. She realized that she should stop bringing her binder to lunch if this happened again. She hooked up her Bluetooth headphones and dances to the music as she closes her locker and swings her bag over her shoulder. She nods her head to the beat as she walks down the hall, to detention in the History room. "Yo what up, Gobber?" she asks, making a backwards peace sign with her fingers as she took her seat.
Astrid's P.O.V.
I slide the right speaker of my headphones off my ear so I can hear if anyone called me. I pulled out my binder and read what I have before unplugging my writers block and scribbling every word that popped into my head, making plans to clean it up later. I pause to think and my hand starts to tap my pencil on the edge of my desk, growing more and more rapid until it's going as fast as lightening. I drop my pencil, making my hand shake. I clench my fist until the nerves calm down. Soon, Snotlout comes in and I hide my binder, glaring at him as he walked.
"Snotlout, you're late. If it happens one more time, you'll have to stay double time," Gobber says and Snotlout waves his hand tiredly as he rubs his head.
"Sorry, fell asleep in science and woke up about two minutes ago," he says as he sits down and Gobber rolls his eyes.
"Astrid, may I see you outside?" Gobber asks and I stand up, following him. I sit in the desk he had just outside his room, for some reason, and wait for him to start talking.
"Why did you have to put Hiccup in a headlock?" he asks and I put my elbow on the desktop, resting my chin on my palm.
"He was laughing the whole time, I don't see what the problem is!" I say defensively. Gobber rubs his temples with one hand.
"Just why?" he asks.
"He invited me to a party," I say.
"That doesn't answer my question," he tells me.
"He didn't give me a choice. Hung up before I could say no," I tell him.
"He probably knew you would say no, so he didn't want to risk his chances by giving you a choice," Gobber says, "But, the boy did seem to be enjoying himself, I'll admit. Just don't let it happen again. Ya got ten more minutes left." I nod and walk back in to find Snotlout's wide eyes boring into a page of my binder.
"SNOT!" I scream before ripping it away from him. He looks at me.
"Did you write that?" he asks in shock.
"Yeah, I know, it's weird, stupid, horribly written, insert more key words here," I say as I sit at the other side of the room, my back to him. After another agonizing ten minutes of feeling Snotlout's gaze burning into my back, I pack my stuff and walk out. I look at the clock on my phone and run out to my bike. I get on and ride into town, parking outside a Starbucks cafe before running inside. I waited for my interview to start.
Time skip cause I have no idea how job interviews go!
I walked out of the cafe with a smile on my face. I start tomorrow at 5:00 and get paid weekly. I ride home and flop down on my bed. "Guess I have to start re-training you, huh, girl?" I ask as Stormfly walks in and flops down at the foot of my bed. She shakes her head with a snort, as if saying that she'll settle for walking when ever I can. I go on my knees next to her. "Oh, I'm so sorry, Stormfly. But I need the money," I tell her, raking my fingers through her soft, winter fur. I hear the doorbell go off and Stormfly lets out a single bark, alerting her brother and sending him into a flurry of unnecessary barks. I cuff her over the ear.
